Who are some female singers with low singing ranges?

Sure Beyonce is a great singer. Sure Britney isn't THE BEST.

I'm curious though, are there any popular female singer who have a low range? If so who are they.

Beyoncé isn't a gr8 singer. She has a gr8 voice. But she's not a gr8 singer.

I'd say Keyshia Cole.
India.Arie (her low register is eek )

Cher, Stevie Nicks and Melissa Etheridge are all excellent singers that have low singing ranges.

For more contemporary artists I would say Toni Braxton, Brandy, Lalah Hathaway, and India Arie.

I'm confused. Is the question who can hit very low notes well, or who has a poor range?

I think it's supposed to be the former. I think most people would associate "low" with the former and "small" or "narrow" with the latter.

I'm guessing he means those that sing in a "lower register" although I could be mistaken.

As to the second part of your question, Dusty Springfield or Rosemary Clooney might qualify.

I wouldn´t count Sade as a performer.

I agree. I used 2 feel that she wasn't a great singer until I heard her sing "The Closer I Get To You" with Luther Vandross. That performance was amazing. I truly believe that Luther and Nat Adderly Jr. taught her how to really sing. All of the material she recorded after that, you can tell the diffeence in her singing style (especially in the ballads).

Beyonce brought tears to my eyes with her performance of Dangerously in Love at VH1 Divas show.
