Good for him. I guess a "slow build" worked for him because it seemed that neither the lead single nor the album was generating much heat last year. Props will be withheld until the showing and proving has commenced. -- Aaron McGruder

They need to release another single soon because I'm constantly being tortured with people's renditions of Lost Without U daily...

That so offensive to say..I know Robin didn't intentionally ask to be grouped in the R&B category, so what if he's white...good music is colorless. He is very unique and so unlike justin as far as character are concerned. He's talented just like George Michael, Teena Marie, Hall and Oates, and Christina and yes soulful too. Deal with it.

SoulAlive said: Good for him! A good friend of mine called me last night and was bragging about his album. He said there is some synthesizer Princey type songs on it. The first thing I asked was if it has drum machines or real drums....and if it has drum machines, are they strong sounding drum machines or weak shit hop sounding ones because weak drum machines and bass absolutely ruin a song. He said he really didn't pay attention but he would make me a copy to see what I thought. Does this album sound like anything I would like? . . [Edited 2/21/07 14:42pm]

[Edited 2/21/07 14:42pm] fast songs...some. slow songs no...and there are way way too many slow songs on the album for me to recommend it to you. however, i think you would like his debut cd which is far more upbeat and experimental. It doesn't sound like old school Funk Prince. It's more reflective of Prince's softer ballads (Adore, Insatiable, Damn U, etc.). I don't think there's anyone out there trying to bring back the hard Funk side of Prince. Except me. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I don't get the hype at all. Once upon a time, in a deep dark forest, an old woman, tappin' her toes...

How is he making history when he's doing something that's already been done before?

He's a good artist that sounds great when mixed in with a musical dearth of talent. [Edited 2/21/07 15:06pm] Blanche: Oh, I do love the rain so! It reminds me of my first kiss.
Dorothy: Awww, your first kiss was in the rain... Blanche: No, it was in the shower.

OK, I think I may have seen one of his videos as I was surfing TV channels. It was a white guy singing a slow song with a falsetto and playing a guitar. It was simply decent but not really something I would spend money on. I'm anxious to see if there are any uptempo songs on the album. I'm wondering if he's a white version of someone like D'Angelo.....someone who is influenced by Prince but only slow Prince.....which gets on my last nerve because Prince was not a damn balladeer so why do people who are influenced by him end up being one. Oh well, I'll just wait and see what's on it....it's free.

You know, when Prince played the Foo Fighters song, nobody made a fuss about some black guy playing music in a predominantly white genre.
