I have long been a fan of horror movies and the ridiculous camp that sometimes accompanies them. I posted a thread recently extolling the virtues of “Prom Night”, but even Jamie Lee’s robotic choreography doesn’t hold a candle to this!

The movie: The House on the Edge of the Park (1980)

The scene: Ludicrous dance at a house party featuring a complete dork Ricky, a coked-out dreamy Spanish-dressed Gloria, a freakish bald woman with 2 different shades of lipstick exclaiming “Hot diggity!”, a cameo from the lead singer of Interpol, and a wipeout at the end!

Need I say more? I will anyway!

I bought a ton of cheap horror films a few years ago, and scored a whole plethora of great films. I had no idea what to expect when it came to this movie, and the grotesque violence this movie contains is certainly shocking. But the highlight, without a doubt, is this ridiculous dance sequence!

Not only do I think this ridiculous scene is among the greatest ever, but the song itself is a truly lost disco gem! I searched high and low for this track for MONTHS to no avail before finally stumbling across a copy online, as it has long been out of print.

Those Princely guitar licks coupled with the infectious disco beat and Abba-like vocals are too sublime to resist!

This movie really is amazing. I wasn't expecting much from those box sets you bought, but there were tons of hidden treasures in there. You got our whole family hooked on those B horror movies. This might be the best of all though. The twist at the end is devilish and that dance scene is priceless. I love reenacting it in the livingroom. You do a perfect Ricky.

Krug pretty much plays the same character. It's worth seeing, even if it is grotesque! Plus, the song and that scene on a real TV screen are truly awesome!

Gloria was in Cannibal Ferox as well, I've just noticed. Both movies were released around the same time. Perhaps there's some sort of connection between their productions.

This movie is pretty old, saw it years ago only cuz the cover mentioned it had the guy from Last House on the Left. Aren't Interpol much younger?
