i much prefer the way the tv broadcast aired live to tell over the way i saw it live. i really think the message, which is so powerful, was just not done justice by the spectacle of her on a cross. that image took away from the severity of what she was speaking about.

I must say that this was totally brilliant. The editing was top-notch too and has me wishing there was a full version of Re-Invention like this. The scenes from her tour documentary were too good not to see the full thing!

I was going crazy watching this show last night!! lol Brought back so many memories. After seeing the show again,I have now come to the conclusion that the 'Confessions' tour was much more enjoyable than 'Re-Invention' and 'Drowned World'.All three tours are incredible, but I really think I enjoyed this one the best.

At first,I was pissed at NBC for wimping out and removing the "cross" segment, but you know what? They did a good job editing it out,and I'm glad they didn't remove the song "Live To Tell" from the show altogether. Her message was still very clear.

Yeah,it's a shame they dropped "Lucky Star".I like the way that song segues into "Hung Up"....bridging the gap between the old and the new. So,here's a list of the songs that were edited out:

"Paradise (Not For Me)"
"Drowned World/Substitute For Love"
"Lucky Star"
"Sorry" remix (video footage)

anything else? hmmm

I can half understand dropping Drowned World (even though i love this acoustic version), and Paradise as they slow the momentum of the show down completely, but Lucky Star - why? Its a direct part of the shows best section. Id have rather been without Issac or Like It Or Not rather than Lucky Star.

That said, i guess they have to conform to the time restrictons, and we all will have something to look forward to for the DVD release. Lets hope the DVD has some great extras (there's a rumour its got behind the scenes footage, the Coachella gig, and Im hoping well get to see some of the rehersals of Everybody & Deeper & Deeper).

Yeah,I'm not even mad that they dropped "Drowned World" and "Paradise (Not For Me)" because,as you say, those two songs do slow down the momentum a bit.So I guess my only complaint is that they dropped "Lucky Star",but hey...it will be on the DVD release lol have you heard any more news on this? Any rumored release dates? I don't see why they can't release it before Christmas.

I was shocked by how unimpressed I was when it started. In general it reminded me just how excited I orignally was for COADF only to find it pretenious most of the time and boring. That being said, she sure does bring it home toward the end and remind people why she is still such a force in pop culture, all others be damned. I'm very happy they included "Erotic/You Thrill Me" and "La Isla Bonita", which were the highlights if you ask me. The funniest part of the show (that I saw).

I agree. I was that the very show that the DWT special was used for. I wasn't impressed with the editing (although it was live and unlike this, they didn't cut anything).

Did you see TRON and Moonbeam? They were at that show too,in the front row.If you watch the DWT DVD,you can see them, jumping up and down during "Beautiful Stranger" and "Candy Perfume Girl" lol

For me,these are the highlights of the show:

Ray Of Light---love the choreography! I love when Maddy "rocks out" during her shows.

Future Lovers/I Feel Love---her entrance is just amazing! It's even more exciting if you were there.

Erotica/You Thrill Me---very sexy performance!!
