I saw their video on Subterranean last week for "Monster Hospital" from last year's 'Live It Out' album and bought the album the same day as '3121'. I really like it. It will get lots of spins in the next few weeks at least.

I know Soweto. Went to college for a short while with his brother. His father was a drama teacher at same college.

Rick James. I did not believe that Street Songs could be such a fantastic album. I also got me a live DVD (fantastic!) and a greatest hits compilation, since I wanted a studio version of Mary Jane and You And I. Hard to get his albums! Even for Street Songs I head to search a long time. BUT it's the deluxe limited edition wink
--- And I paid a lot of money, but damn it is worth it!

A few days ago, when I picked up 3121, I also got me some Edith Piaf... nice, have to say that.

Venetian Snares - though I've been aware of him for quite a long time, it was only recently that I discovered that I actually enjoy his music. I'd bought a couple of releases on a whim, and those had only featured his harsh, somewhat impenetrable side. Every time I tried listening to them, I walked away feeling like I'd been aurally assaulted.

I recently picked up this album:

and all of sudden I understand his appeal. It's still not exactly warm, fuzzy music, but it has a little more structure than the other albums I'd heard.

I'm going to see them in early April - more so because my friend is a huge fan. I like them well enough, but I probably wouldn't go to the show if he wasn't dragging me along.

White Stripes. Jack White is a great guitarist and I'm impressed that elephant was recorded on an 8 track.

I discovered them last year and I love their last album as well as some other songs by them, but I was quite disappointed when I saw them live sad

What was wrong with their live show? Did they sound too "empty" because they only have two musicians?

The major problem was that one of these 2 musicians can neither play nor sing sad
