Jamie King talks about Madonna's upcoming tour: "The setlist has been confirmed"

Madonna plans to hit the clubs for some dates on her upcoming summer tour, because according to her tour director,it wouldn't be the disco queen's kind of dance floor if it wasn't a bit confessional too.

"A typical Madonna show is quite produced",said Jamie King, who has been the creative director for Madonna's last two tours."She likes things large, she likes things theatrical, but this time, being that "Confessions On A Dancefloor" is an intimate album,we want to try to make people have an intimate experience as well as a big, produced theatrical experience. So look for us doing some small venues".

To achieve that intimacy,Madonna will have to be able to get close to everyone,so the tour is also going to be more interactive."I would like to put her as close to her people-her fans, her dancers, her fellow supporters-as possible",King said.

While that effect was achieved via the pit and the catwalk on her Re-Invention Tour, don't expect Madonna to merely reinvent that tour and trot out all the hits. The setlist has been confirmed,King said, and it's definitely "Confessions"-heavy,with "some familiar faces" popping up from the past two dance-themed videos "Hung Up" and "Sorry".That said, there will be a few yet-to-be-revealed fan favorites on the setlist as well.

"Listen,I love old Madonna songs-I don't know one person who doesn't",King said."But we want to mainly focus on this album.I think people love it and they want to hear it,so expect alot of the songs from "Confessions On A Dancefloor".

Tour dates have yet to be announced, but rehearsals begin March 1.

She better do regular arenas too. There's no way i'd be getting a ticket for a 2000 seater venue with the overflow of queens in Toronto. And i bet the ticket will cost a fortune. Greedy Madge.

That looks really cool.

I've never seen Madonna live. This might be the tour I make myself go see her.

you know you kinda "lost contact" to an artist, if the current setlist holds a bigger number of songs you never even heard of compared to your old faves confused
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

My guess is that she will only play small venues in a few select cities (L.A..New York,etc)...perhaps one big arena show and one small venue in these cities. The Rolling Stones did this on their last tour. The smaller venues will be considered "special" exclusive performances and undoubtedly will have a higher ticket price.

I'm tired of hearing the old stuff.I'm thrilled that she is mainly concentrating on the newer music.I wouldn't even care if she removed "Holiday" from the setlist.

Mr7

Setlist? How about the PRICE?

I would really like to go and see her but our baby is due in June.

If both Prince & Madonna hit Europe this year I hope the prices are reasonable.

It has been ordinary, working people who have maintained Madonna's career, not rich yuppies.

Its a crying shame some loyal fans have to break the bank to get tickets.

I wouldn't necessarily phrase myself 'loyal' but I have bought every album for the past 10 years.

Lets hope more people can see her with reasonable ticket prices.

I agree. As much as I love Madonna,I'm not thrilled at the thought of having to spend a fortune to see her confused I might just settle for the "cheap seats" this time around.

Unless she plans on redoing "Rain" and "Take a Bow" as big dance numbers, I can't see how they would fit in with this tour.

It was hard enough getting tickets for the last time around for me, if she lowered the prices there would be no chance in me getting a ticket.
I don't line up for tickets. I buy them off the net.

But for the record i had nosebleeds the last time around and still had fun. The energy was high in the crowd so that's all that mattered.
