From Anxy's Big Vault of Wrong: "Tomorrow" by Grace Jones

DIG IF U WILL THE PICTURE of Grace jones in a curly red wig and an Annie costume, cracking a whip and baring her fangs as she snarls her way through a disco version of the classic song "Tomorrow" from the Broadway musical "Annie".

It really happened, folks. It's one one of Grace's early albums, "Portfolio"...along with her version of...oh lawd...SEND IN THE CLOWNS. disbelief

I've had the vinyl of this album for a couple of years, but I really just bought it for decoration because I love the cover. It wasn't until a week or so ago that I realized what exactly was ON this little gem. Has anyone else experienced the fabulous wrongness that is Grace covering "Annie"?

Grace Jones.... now theres an underrated artist.

Portfolio must be languishing in my loft in a box with loads of other cassettes. I'll have to dig it up some day.

"Barefoot in Beverley Hills" is my fave GJ track - from one of her much later albums. You know it Anx?

i don't know why, but the one scene that always makes me laugh the most is divine's birthday, when she's opening her gifts. nobody ever got me a pig's head and some amyl nitrate for MY birthday!

hmmm I never thought I would ever be able to cover up the scar I have from Serial Mom (not now...Mommy's watching Annie)...this sounds like it might top that.

ironically, grace sounds as if she's pummelling someone to death with a ham hock while she's singing the song.

lol Portfolio is indeed a bit of a mixed bag. To me, it's worth the price for "La Vie en Rose" alone, though. love
