Yes, it`s the ballads he`s best at. He has a very unique, powerful voice, that really shines through in the more slow songs. His ego is justified

I`m glad so many of you know the song
You're top man on scene You don't think life comes in between But yet she's just seventeen She feels that she's a worldly girl But man you've been around the world She's just some worried Daddy's pearl Even there's nothing I can say To cheating your nature anyway Let her down easy Her heart is on a dime Let her down easy You'll grow up in time In her strawberry eyes The way she sees you signifies that She's susceptible to your velvet lies But if you must lay her down may a butterscotch glow be her dressing gown, Please do not lead her on when you leave town Even there's nothing I can say To cheating your nature anyway Let her down easy Her heart is on a dime Let her down easy You'll grow up in time She's a woman now With a daughter to make her proud In her crayon world of paper clouds She still remembers you The first boy that she gave it to And she laughs at how little that she knew Even though there's nothing I can say Let her down easy Her heart is on a dime Let her down easy You'll grow up in time

I love Let Her Down Easy, it's an amazing closer to one of my all time favorite albums. But It's Been Said is his best ballad IMHO. That song blows me away.

Easily one of my top 5 TTD songs
He kills me how he can take the most simple elements - his voice & a piano, so fucking PURE!!! - & make the most beautiful songs

the whole album is fantastic, though the so called 'part II reconcilliation' (track 10 onwards) is especially great. i don't know why he's still not huge, his talent is for sure.

[Edited 12/19/05 12:10pm] He`s gotten much more experimental, i think most people just don`t get him... Personally, there`s some of his songs i don`t like at all, like "she kissed me"

Personally, there`s some of his songs i don`t like at all, like "she kissed me" 'vibrator' was great aswell. i'll admit i lost touch a bit myself when the whole sananda thing started. I've just dug out 'neither fish nor flesh', i know it bombed when it came out but i love it. great album. ahead of it's time. and there's nothing wrong with 'She kissed Me'. i used to love this dude...the hardline was the soundtrack to my life circa 1988...he lost me with all the poetic and ego mumbo jumbo after that...oh well...the man can sing...
