Classic Tunes (70's and 80's) that make 2day hits look a big pile of poo!

I was listening 2 some of those yummy extended (night...) version of the
Fab 5 (the taylor boys (not related), simon and nick) and I still believe that some classic tunes of the 70's and the 80's make 2day hit records look like a big pile of shit! confused

Here some stuff that's still ahead:

Giorgio did the benchmark 2 what we call dance music...This song is still fresh and provocative, almost 30 years! Donna u still rule!

Yes...it still kick ass (and I'm a closeted cyndi fan!)

Girls on film...enough said!

Nobody was capable of doing this kind of feeling and sadness...Happy/sad tune...

the most underrated madonna tune ever...none of the bicthes like britney and company did something so fun!

Even the worst 1970s and 1980s music makes today's music look like shit. Compared to today's music, even weak little goodie two shoes Shitney Houston was throwing down hard like Prince, Rick James, or the Barkays. lol

i know parents of every generation ususally complain about modern music and how good it used to be compared to the modern day stuff, but i think this time its really true. i mean im 15 and i think todays music sucks, theres only 1 song all year the ive TRUELY liked and thought wow when i heard it and that was gorillaz feel good inc. i can think of right off the bat about 20 songs that wowed me from 1982 alone

and the melody for that is basically a rip-off of the Kinks' Sunny Afternoon from the 60s. lol

There is more obscure music put out today, if you guys would venture beyond what you hear on the radio. Hell, nobody here should even be listening to the radio. You know how shitty the thing is.

See, I kinda think that's that's the point. In the 70s and 80s, a lot of commercially successful and widely heard music was also of a high quality. Certainly not all, there was a lot of junk then too. But today it seems that most stuff that's succesful is either garbage, or just very bland.

Could artists as uncompromising as Stevie Wonder, Prince, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin, the Who or Bob Dylan be huge stars if they came along in this era. I somehow doubt it
