What is the Greatest Rolling Stones Song?

Is it Sway?

Could it be?

It may very well be.

Please, motherfuckers! Please!!

You may be be disoriented by my bold choice, but don't let that get in your way of offering your own choices

Will I mock these choices? Yes!

But it's still important to try!

For your own sakes!!

Question:

Did U2 build their entire career (every gutiar lick they ever played, every emotional reaction they ever had)) entirely on Child of the Moon?

Short answer? Yes.

My personal favorite song of theirs is Sympathy For the devil. Satisfaction was once voted the greatest rock song of all time by anybody so that might be a good candidate.

Tumbling Dice is probably the rawest, hardest music anyone has ever made - but I've played it so many times I really don't know if I'll ever be able to listen to it again.

Dead Flowers is sort of a sentimental favourite as well, I guess...

Oddly I just had this discussion with someone yesterday and we decided that the answer is:

Gimme Shelter but the intro to Monkey Man is as good as it gets.

My favorite Rolling Stones song lately is probaly Mother's Little Helper.

I'm assuming you say that as a Prince fan and not a Rolling Stones fan.

I could be wrong but I think its a pretty educated guess.

Men are armed shout who goes there
We have journeyed far from here
Armed with bibles make us swear

Candy and Taffy, hope you both are well
Please come see me in the citadel

Flags are flying, dollar bills
Round the heights of concrete hills
You can see the pinnacles

Candy and Taffy, hope you both are well
Please come see me in the citadel

In the streets are many walls
Hear the peasants come and crawl
You can hear their numbers call

Candy and Taffy, hope you both are well
Please come see me in the citadel

Screaming people fly so fast
In their shiny metal cars
Through the woods of steel and glass

Candy and Taffy, hope you both are well
Please come see me in the citadel

lol

Ummmm....it's just that most people who know the Stones would say they have 30 or more superior songs in the their catalogue and this thread asked for greatest not favorite although I gave both. Prince fans tend to like this song more then most people because Prince covered it. Not a big deal either way and I didn't mean to offend.

'Angie'...simply beautiful

'Gimmie Shelter'...one of the best rock songs ever...the background vocals are incredible

'Wild Horses'...cliche yes...but it lives up to the hype!

'Let It Bleed'...amazing song!
