Drawing from her love and consequently her influence of old school rhythm n bluez, the young New York lass served her Melbournian fanz well with a beautifully electrifyin performance at the Palais Theatre, and will be performin tonight at the same venue.

It started all mysteriously with the Harlem's Nocturne track (Diary Of Alicia Keys)...the lights were all on this rustic old piano..no Alicia in sight..till she comes out clad in a Prince-esque big top hat/funky jacket/cane ensemble- simmerin HOT wif da attitude dat was all Alicia... singing 'karma'! She performed many of her tunez from her current album, including Heartburn, diary, and at the end of the show 'you don't know my name'...there were also performancez from her debut album Songs in A Minor, and some absolutely fantabulous renditionz of many old school songz- including Stevie Wonder's Living For the City and Higher Ground...ofcourse yes she perfomed her version of Prince's How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore- all with such prestige, high musicianship and high-rate performancez!! Her band included 3 soulful backup singerz who were just amazing , base, electric guitar, drummer, keyboardist and Ms Keys was on the grand piano for many of her songz!
The only thing "bad" i have to say is dat, she doesn't need to really dance..which she did..she showed Melboure she could shake a$$ but really da gal knowz how to use da stage well when she doesn't dance- i think this is more of a compliment to her

It is inevitable to say she had Melbourne in a spin last night and I'd say tonight'z audience is gonna go off aswell!!!

But what does this have to do with Prince apart from one song?
