There are great songs on invincible. But many craps too. Like 2000 Watts. It's the first time MJ sang that low I think. But song sucks

Whatever Happens
Speechless
Butterflies
Unbreakable
You Rock My World

the keepers

I like 2000 Watts. True, when I first heard it I was like confused

But then I played it LOUD. smile

i love that track. Loud is essential.

i'm assuming he recorded it at a higher speed and then slowed it down for the album, right? confused

Dunno. It's possible, but he does actually have a lower register. He just don't use it often. shrug

The music is much better than the actual song. That's what you should be listening to. wink

I disagree with you here, "Cry" was a bautiful track written by R.Kelly, much better than "one more chance." And it was a singles as well and a video was made for it (crappy one at that.) And i like the lost children, and he brings up a great point at the beginning at how "we sing songs for the wishing, for those who are kissing but not for the missing." IT shows how MJ really feels about kids.

That pretty much sums up why I think The Lost Children is barf lol And naturally i disagree about Cry. It was a single true, but so was Mr Blobby. neutral

I dont mind invincible, i just think it was overproduced and too many friggin writers. There were some tracks where it took 5 people to write a song.

see, i don't care how many people write a song if it kicks ass. wink

But those songs didn't kick ass....

It think "Invincible" is the most underrated albums he has ever done. I'm thinking and I hope everyone agrees with me....even just as good as Thriller, which is the most overrated album.

I think Bad is his most overrated album. And yet most "serious" music critics reckon that was his last decent work. Each to their own, I guess. smile

Which ones?

Dangerous yes but no others....

Thriller will always be the most highly remembered

Off The Wall and Invincible are better albums. Or at least have more genuinely outstanding tracks. Possibly Dangerous, too. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', Beat It and Billie Jean are the only real gems for me. The Girl Is Mine aside, the rest of Thriller is great pop music but not really outstanding songwriting. Just my opinion, of course. wink

Oh no you didn't. Bad is like my favourite album of all time. Look past the 80's drum sounds people! lol

Invincible up to about track 8 is great. Flows well, great tracks. After that it gets a little messy. By the last 2 tracks the album starts kickin' again.

It ain't really the 80's production. It's just that apart from Smooth Criminal, The Way You Make Me Feel & Man In The Mirror I don't hear any truly great songs. It's a nice pop album, just a little too contrived. Too perfect, even. And extremely safe. The only real horrors on there are Leave Me Alone and Just Good Friends. Glad you like it, tho'. wink

Bad,Dangerous, HIStory and maybe Off The Wall too, are all better than Thriller in my honest opinion

I agree. There's not ONE filler on it. Maybe Just Good Friends, but even that is listenable

What about Liberian Girl? Dirty Diana? Speed Demon is a dope composition. Another Part Of Me? It wasn't safe. Safe would have been Thriller part II. Bad was anything but that.

lol nah, that's cool. I just love that album too much lol

lol The songs are good, just not great, in my opinion. wink All the songs you mentioned I actually like, I just think he's done much better. And I'm comparing it more to what came later when his work took on a darker tone. He seemed to favour art over commerce in his post Bad material and that's the stuff I'm most drawn to.

Put the 9 best tracks on Invincible against the 9 tracks on Thriller and Vince would give Thriller a run for it's money.

I challenge you to find 9 solid tracks and match them song for song.

"Butterflies" is hot but Floetry wrote it. No matter what way you dice it, Invincible is a clunker.

Then there's Invincible, Threatened and 2000 Watts which I also like. So there's a twelve track album for you. smile
