On Sinbad's show a few years ago, he kicked ass! I think he played Delerious and the cool instrumental part from Rock And Roll Is Alive and some other stuff in medley form. It was great.

1991 When Prince was on Arsenio Hall. The version of Kiss was off the meter. I've never seen him perform it better than that show. 1985 Grammy show was also hot to death. 1987 Sign "O" the Times on MTV was real fly as well as 1991 Gett Off. And lastly when Prince played Electric Chair on SNL back in 1989 was too funky.

1994 AMA awards when he emerges from the body bag... 2 funky. They danced to the purple medley, and P was chewing gum to let everyone know they was making him lip synch! smile

I agree..

* I also love the MTV Music Awards..with the yellow jump suit /ass cut out..

GREAT Guitar solo!! and just raw nasty ass funk/sex/singing/dancing/guitar

* another is "Dolphin" on Dave Letterman.. w/ Matye as an angel (prince pretends to shot himself)

* and finally "The Morning Papers" on Aresino Hall Show (sp?),,,WOW Prince might have gotten upstaged by Michael Bland (the drummer)...smilesmile ( pretty close.. but Prince was hot on that solo) too!!!

"My Name Is Prince" on Arsenio, just cause i love the policemans hat with the chains.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

cosign smile That SNL performance was simply phenomenal...the way his hair looked, the way he MOVED..girl...I know a couple of friends who go ga-ga when they watch this LOL

Add to that the 85 Grammy performance, because after kicking EVERYbody's ass with "Baby I'm a Star" and literally bringing the house down with the funk.....Prince walked out victoriously, with arms raised, like a boxer who just won the world championship fight. I'll never forget that image for as long as I live and breathe.

I used to HATE this performance, but now I'm beginning to love and appreciate his Letterman performance from '94 when he sang "Dolphin"..I think that was really cool.

top 5:

5. cream (arsenio hall)
4. gett off (mtv awards)
3. dorothy parker (leno)
2. baby knows (bbc?)
1. come on (leno) w/ outro rap

also there is a great version of america live but i don't think it was a television appearance. that is my favorite all time video of prince playing live.

No question that Gett Off @ MTV VMA 1991 is the best in my mind. This was Prince revelling in showing off (in every sense of the word) and totally blew any other act off the stage that night. It also left Arsenio pretty speechless, which is always a good thing!
Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell.
