Let's hear it for the oft-maligned songs: Right the Wrong, Arrogance, Jughead, etc.

I'm sure everyone has a different list of songs that they often hear being slammed on the fan boards but yet you fucking love the songs... those 3 are a few of the songs that I kinda dig that I've heard a few people talk shit about - okay that's a lie, I really fucking love Right the Wrong, and I ain't ashamed o' shit. wink

I think the whole "Can you hear me, baby? I'm 6 feet in the grave! I'm 6 feet in the graaaave!" thing towards the end seals the deal for me. IMO, that's one of the best things to come out of that era.

Hell, I'm gonna get bold.

I like Chaos & Disorder better than The Gold Experience.

eek

Granted, my version of C&D ends the second I hear the first beat of "NPG to the maximum!!", and I never really have almost an hour and a half to devote to some cyber pseudo sexy slut doin' the ol' Speak & Spell routine. Save it honey, put it in the bank! I know wasssss-happnin'!"

Sorry to get so tangential on y'all's asses. I'll blame it on ADHD like all the other fools in this country. wink

I just thought maybe I wasn't the only one who fucking LOVES The Sacrifice of Victor, and kinda digs Jughead. I mean it's not great, but it's not that bad, and I mean it is a legendary song now, albeit infamously so.

Arrogance is another one...I was listening to that earlier today and GOOD GAWD it filled me with power, I tells ya.

PIMP RAG, TOOTSIE POP AND A CANE!

Oh, and if you hate all of these songs, that's cool too. I love the differences in taste that we die-hards have, and all Prince fans have...I think it's fascinating.

I HATED Jughead when I 1st heard it. It was actually one of the 1st ones by Prince that made me go UUUHN. Graffiti Bridge was probably the 1st.
I loved Arrogance though.

This one seems to get murdered on here quite often but I've always loved Silly Game..."now why you wanna go and do that?"

Another one i've always enjoyed is Courtin' Time...."put on your good dress,baby!..."

I like the other songs on your list too....evillol
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Hmmm... people that hate Jughead probably just don't have a sense of humor. Prince and the NPG pointed out themselves that the song was "stoopid", it's just supposed to be fun. Not every song has to be life-changing.

And Arrogance kicks ass musically. It's wicked.

Right the Wrong is also cool. Again, you have to have a sense of humor about it. Prince doing his "redneck impersonation". It's a neat song, not great, but certainly not the abomination that people make it out to be.

I FUCKIN LOVE THE FOLLOWING:

Right the Wrong woot! -- I used to have it in my signature how much I loved this song and have started various threads defending it to the death.

Courtin' Time woot! -- sweet faux-jazz upbeat gem

Arrogance woot! -- wonderfully pimpish

I also love Life O the Party, was partial to a bit of Jughead when I was about 12 and generally adore most songs that people trash.

I'm sorry - I just have nothing to say good about Jughead.

I like Arrogance - cause you know the whole toosie pop thing.

New Power Soul - I do like for some songs. Rave - uh let's not discuss undisputed.

Im with u on the song 'Arrogance' baby Blue hug

I really like NPS...AND Emancipation - I know the production on the latter aint hot, but I think it's overall a damned good set - way too much maligned. As 4 NPS, Ive NEVER understod WHAT it was that people didnt like about it, in fact - im still waiting 2 hear! It just gets bashed - but no-one has yet said why (at leas, Ive not read anything since joing the org)

Well, Right the wrong i like very much.

Arrogance is cool. I love the intro with the laughter-into-scratches.

Sacrifice of Victor is fucking brilliant. This is one i simply cannot understand the hatred for.

Courtin' Time i love too.

Jughead...i'm sorry. I really can't be doing with this.

I have no particular love for Jughead. I really like Arrogance and Right the Wrong. Chaos & Disorder is an amazing album, anyway. I like it lots better than the new one.
Proves that it's all about timing. If C&D had been released in the context of all the other media happenings, RRHOF induction, and big label push, we'd be talking about it debuting at #3 (or higher) instead of Musicology.
