No disrespect at all, but why do you guys do that? If I spend five hours in line to secure my space, why do you push your way past me? If someone is kind enough to try and start up a wristband project, why not participate? Why do you guys let your friends cut in front of you and get mad when someone calls you on it? Why do some fans get upset because some people don't want to stand at a show? I think fans should handle themselves with a little more decorum and act like adults.

It's because some fans are rude, immature, selfish assholes who don't understand the concept of OTHER PEOPLE existing on this planet, or who feel they are somehow exempt from having to use manners or common decency/courtesy due to a deluded sense of entitlement to "be up front" because they are Prince's "#1 fan(s)".

I totally understand the emotion of your post and agree with what you stated. I too have been rudely, forcefully shoved aside while some rabid overenthusiastic fan muscles their way past me to get to the front or the head of the line. I guess the figure the rules don't apply to them or they're better than others and therefore can treat other - more courteous and civilized - fans like shit.

Michael Jackson fans wouldnt do that becuz they are better!

This is EXACTLY why I always hang out at the back. In all of my Paisley experiences, I hang in the back...more rrom to dance and you can just look over everyone else....

Man, this whole thread brings up BAD memories of fan behavior at the ATL show in 2002. Just thinking about it is getting my blood boiling.

and why on earth do some people yell at others, shouting at them to sit down?! that is some shit i will never understand. when i saw p in mpls back at the first celebration, some girls behind my friend and i were yelling at us to sit down. now, we were not the only 2 people standing up so i don't know what difference it would have made if we did sit down but, honestly, why go to a concert and yell at people to sit down? i've had this happen at bowie shows and fleetwood mac shows. it's cool if YOU want to sit but it's not cool to expect OTHERS to follow suit.

Before I get yelled at, I did swap seats so I was back a row further at a recent show cos one of the 2 people behind me was in a brace and really couldn't stand...he was able to have a fine view line sitting in my seat, and I was able to dance. I understand sometimes there are reasons why people CAN'T stand, but when they just DON'T WANT to stand and get pissy, I go crazy...

At the ONA Show in LA, a few of the Bumpsquad members set up a line and arranged with the NPGMC to honor the sign in list, which they agreed to do. So many of us stood in this line for hours, some even spent the night. As we got there, we signed a list and that list showed what order we had arrived in.

As the time for the concert got nearer we saw typical LA bitches and assholes who thought they were all that and cut to the front of the line. One of the Bumpsquad members respectfully went up to them and told them that there was a sign in sheet and this woman responded with such an attitude and basically said they didn't have to listen to her. With that the bumpsquad member went to NPGMC and pointed them out.

As we were filing in to the Kodak theater, we saw that the people who cut in line walked up to the entrance and the NPGMC asked them their names and when their names weren't next in line on the list the NPGMC rep simply said, sorry this sign in list is what we are going by. The end of the line is outside. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Stupid arrogant asses now had to go outside to the end of the line that was longer than it was had they went there 2 hours prior. WHAT A BURN!

There is no way on this earth I would allow any of this to happen - someone pushes in front of you then drop them.

Just live with it. Every Prince crowd I've ever been in has been rude and pushy. People don't care if you get there early and wait your turn. They will still push, shove and try to cut in line. That's why I've never understood why anyone would wear nice clothes to a Prince show. By the time you get into the venue, you've had all kinds of bodies pressing up against you. Elbow jabs..

And let's not even discuss what happens at the club shows when the bouncers and bodyguards start pushing people around...it's like being trapped in a hellhole where you can't breathe and there's no way out...

This is why I am very, very glad that there are NO soundchecks or aftershows on the Musicology tour. Everybody has a ticket with a number on it. That's how it should be. No more of this insane pushing and shoving in tight spaces. It's a miracle that no one has been seriously injured in some of these Prince show crowds...

ONCE i made the mistake of getting to the front of the stage (my early days at the park) only to suffer being trampled and shoved by people behind me who had clearly arrived later but figured i was small enough to bully or something i was in actual physical pain after being elbowed by rude people and finally left because it sucked. i had no idea until then that 'fams' could be so vicious. learned that lesson in a hurry and enjoyed the shows from the back after that. too bad some people can't behave like adults

Picking up my tickets last year in the pouring rain this guy runs up from nowhere to get under my umbrella, I thought OK, and then when we get to the front of the queue he goes first - the nerve!! if you are reading this? I am NOT impressed.
I do push my way to the front of the stage though because of a certain vertical challenge that prevents me from seeing a goddamn thing if I don't, people don't usually even notice, since I am at least a head shorter than them, although I do usually ask first.

Hopefully you all won't think worse of me after you read this but i will say that I was one that cut. I know I know, you all hate me. BUT listen before you stone me.

My friend and i got there pretty late. Close to 11:30 pm and when i asked one of the guys who was "maning" the line what was going on..."What line is this", "Is there a separate line for NPG members?" He told me to stand right at the corner and walk in as the line moved. At that time i thought that "maybe they let the NPG members in early so we did what he said.

No one around me said "Hey lady, get the F*** to the end of the line" so i thought it was cool.

Once in we actually stood at the back of the room because i didn't feel like dealing with people pushing up front. It had the feeling of a fire hazard.

I hope you all don't hate me now but God knows that folks that came in after me where probably in front of me blocking my view! hahahahahhahaaa

Because I was basically told to by the guy that was watching the line. He was the same guy that was telling other people to go to the end of the line. I thought that the npg club members had already been let in (i am also a npg clug member). So at the time it didn't seem like we had done anything wrong.

No one said a word to me so i thought it was kosher. but now i see was wrong.

BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY THAT I HAVE SPENT PROBABLY A TOTAL OF 5 YEARS WAITING IN LINE FOR PRINCE OVER MY 34 YEARS LIVING ON THIS PLANET. Hot weather, cold weather, rain, sleet and snow. If I thought I was doing something wrong I wouldn't have done it but I was told to get in line at the corner.

Now pushing my way to the front that i didn't do. that bugs the crap out of me.
