i think he will play Everyday is a Winding road.
Larrys getting himself ready for his part as we speak.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

that's right handclaps. He may not even show. We all know what he's like. I hope he doesn't disappoint us, but be prepared for anything.

He should to "The Last December".

It will show that he's still not relying on his past glory (I hope he doesn't do something like Purple Rain).

It's a great song so people will know that he's still 'got it'. An anthemic song like this is fitting for this 'honour'.

It has some cool instrumental breaks wqhere he can really show off his guitar work~!

Just remember, he's going to have a huge televsion audience so he's got to make the most of this.

No matter if some fans are sick of hearing it or not, Purple Rain would be the most fitting song for him to do. Plus the world can be reminded of the Guitar God he truly is. Plus I think it would be cool to have Wendy, Lisa, Sheila, Rhonda and Fink in his band.

All eyes will be on him so he will probably use this opportunity to bring everyone into the everlasting now by performing something from Rainbow Children. Anything from 1999 or Purple Rain would bring the house down but that's too easy.

Me too. I've never seen this show broadcast in Canada, so perhaps many of us will not even get to see it:cry:

You could be right Milty, but VH1 is available on second tier cable which many of us don't have here in Canada. Oh well, I'll have to get all the news from you guys here on the org.

Purple Rain is the last song he should do. That song should be reserved for the end of a long show. He'll probably do a medley of hits. That's the way to go for a show like this. Who knows? Maybe he's been saving some material for an event like this. I know I would be.

How long do inductees play for, before the final all-star jam? I've never seen this on TV.

IF he even shows up, he'll do some medley, culminating with a track off of TRC.

But I think it would be MASSIVE if he actually shocked the world and did a Michael Jackson song, or something! nod

My fear is he might not even show up. omfg

But if he does, he should do the one man band thing--show what a badass he is. He should start at piano, play the shit out of the thing, then go to Synth, and do some wild stuff and to Guitar, and play some great stuff. Just make everyone in the crowd shit themselves.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Prince and the current NPG play Power Fantastic with a jazzy segue into Here On Earth. The closing chords of Here On Earth turn into Sometimes It Snows In April as Wendy amd Lisa appear from behind a curtain.

Once the audience is stunned into silence, he launches into America as the whole Revolution join him onstage with the addition of Maceo, Rosie and a rap by Eve... Gwen Stefani will be on the edge of the stage shaking a tambourine. The somg lasts for 45 minutes. Sheila is rattling her percussion-set until every seated member of the room is jamming on the floor.

I have it on very good authority that he WILL play.

Even better - MJ will induct him.

Better still - they will perform TOGETHER.

They're going to do 18 & Over !
That'll clear up all the allegations once and for all!!

wink

If he plays at all, He'll play something weak like a medley for sure, when what he should really be doing is blowing peoples minds with what he is really capable of.
