Saw Prince in 2004 for the "Call My Name" video shoot in L.A. He stood less than 10 feet in front of me in an immaculately tailored suit. He emitted an otherworldly vibe. His speaking voice was low and he seemingly found it challenging to maintain eye contact as he addressed me and the other extras regarding our early dismissal. I will always remember that day.

1990 Wendy & Lisa concert town and country club London. Where we were stood we could easily see Prince size stage and behind the set. Wendy & Lisa were forever glancing over in his direction ... great memories

i thought they were totally on the outs by that time.

Why does there always have to be at least one snarky comment in every thread? People just can't leave well enough alone.....

Well, of course you’ve seen him, every time you look in the mirror! lol

What?

lol

I saw him in a car in Berlin. But he was in the backseat.

Were the car windows not tinted? Were they down? How were you able to see him in the back seat?

Not really out and about around town but in Kansas City a buddy I went to a show with got 'insider info' that Prince was going to hang at a small hole in the wall bar up the street from where everyone else was lined up to see an 'aftershow' that never was going to happen. So we got into the bar, not sure how as I was not 21 yet but there were only like 10 people there just chilling. Prince and the band came in from the back door and walked right past and set in a chair in front of a big tv. They eventually asked all of us to leave but I thought that moment was cool.

Seen him a few times but always going into or out of a concert venue or after party venue so not sure that counts for this thread.

No, they were neither tinted nor down. It was a pretty regular Mercedes, like the ones that are used as taxi cabs. I think it was silver or black.

He was sitting in the backseat, the car stopped at a redlight, we saw him and ran to the car, asked him where the concert would be but he wouldn´t tell us. lol

But later I found the venue anyway, and the PRN logo on the equipment boxes outside the venue was proof for me that they´d indeed play there later that night.

(Tränenpalast, 1994, with many, many celebrities in the audience. Naomi Campbell was standing right behind me with Jean-Paul Gaultier. Good times ! ) .

I worked at the Minneapolis airport in the early 90s and used to see him coming and going all the time. I frequented Glam Slam and he would come in there almost every Wednesday and Saturday when he was in town.

i met an ethiopian lady from Minneapolis, she grew up there but said she never saw him so i guess he was reclusive enough not to be seen by everyone.

Always. At least 2. There was a publicized incident at the airport in 2004 where someone had taken a photo of Prince and the bodyguard took the camera and assaulted him. He did need them at the club, because people were always trying to approach him.

ya, at a club, at a club it's always a good idea, in fact, i hate bars/clubs myself. as a musician, sometimes i have to go into them. I'm surprised he was still doing the assault routine up to 2004, i never heard any bodyguard problems outside of the duane Nelson and the 85 issues. I just kind of wonder if he needed them when he went anywhere, i'm sure in many places in the world, neighborhoods,, streets, i couldn't picture anyone being harassed, even Michael Jackson or Muhammad Ali probably wouldn't be bothered in a lot of places.

Well for example, just look at the photo that surfaced of him in the Walgreens parking lot. It was probably just someone at Walgreens and was like, OMG, it's Prince. Let me take a photo.

sure, and he was far from inconspicuous with his gettup. I bet bruce springsteen could go alot of places and not stick out. It all really depends on where you go I guess. Prince was able to go door to door when he was selling watchtower without bodyguards didn't he?

Jw's usually work in pairs, I doubt he was ever walking alone anywhere by himself (with perhaps a few exceptions when he occasionally rode his bike around Chanhassen).

That I don't know. Sorry. I doubt it was just him and Larry walking around by themselves.

When Prince was going door to door he would dress in a normal suit and tie outfits, not his 'regular' Prince gear. biggrin

Yes. I'm from the Chanhassen area and saw him in and around town about a half dozen times over the years. He was always alone, though sometimes there was a driver waiting outside of (wherever). I never saw anybody bother or even approach him any of those times.
