The Atrium at Paisley Park

I read yesterday the Atrium at Paisley Park is really small. Is anyone here able to provide the dimensions??

There are blueprints all over the web. Google Image it. "Small" is relatively, really.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

PS I never thought of it as that small, but not something you'd park a bus in either. Certainly a beautiful area.

I can't provide dimensions but it felt much smaller than I expected when I visited. It looks much larger in photos I see online.

That's the impression I have.

The 2001 Celebration. There were a lot of discussions and listening rooms for The Rainbow Children, which was quite the talking piece. Kevin Smith, the comedian, and writer, was set to film the event (you can see his crew in one of the photos). He did, but it was never released. He talks about his time at Paisley Park in two different stand-up specials that he did. They're on DVD.

Prince didn't like him talking about everything, and said he had signed a non-disclosure. In fact, Smith hadn't. They kept trying to get him to sign one, and he'd say "yeah yeah, I still in a few, we're still setting up, I gotta do this" sorta thing, always putting off the staff. Turns out, he never got around to signing it (on purpose), so he was legally free to talk about anything that happened directly with Prince. I'm sure Prince hated that, but Smith had the best respect for Prince before, during, and after 2001. But if you can find those two segments of his stand up specials, they're worth the watch. They're probably on YouTube. I think the second one is called Longer & Harder. or something like that.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Blueprints aside, it can be difficult to tell from photos. Anyone been in there, more than once?

Also, I've read that Paisley Park is deceptively small?

I've been in the atrium countless times. I've seen Prince perform in there 3 times with full bands and many, many dance parties. It is small compared to the soundstage. Compared to the Love4OneAnother/NPGMC room it is about the same, just shaped different. The atrium is more square, where as the Love4OneAnother/NPGMC room is rectangular. I think Paisley Park has always been described as a 65,000 suare foot complex. Nothing deceptive about that.
