Identify Prince song? Can someone help me identify a Prince song? It's very slow, but not a ballad. Sung in a high voice throughout. Probabaly late 80s/early 90s (but I'm not positive). Fairly popular. Possibly a single (maybe a b-side?)? I recall the melody, but I don't remember any of the words. Any idea what it might be? | |

Could you be a little more vague? I really have no idea, sorry, but I don't think it's 7 or What's My Name because neither fit your description. It could be The Question Of U, though (it wasn't a single but there was a music video so it probably got more exposure than a mere album track). The problem is that Prince has released hundreds of songs, so without any more details, it's really hard to help you. "What's My Name?" is an excellent description of what this thread is about and also a little bit of a joke. I remember I once heard this Bob Dylan song on the radio and I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was. All I remembered was a part that went "this is the story of..." Then I bought the Desire album and the first song.... "This is the story of the Hurricane..." That's the one! So I guess griptype just needs to listen to as much Prince music as possible to find the answer... And that's not a bad thing... At all... | |

Thank you for all your suggeations. I just listened to all the songs. And it's none of them. Yes, I know my description is vague. Sorry about that! As one responder said, I will just have to keep listening to Prince songs until I come accross it! Thank you all again for your input. | |
