What was the final verdict on the instrumental Tickle my Pickle? It seems to be the basis for the W&L song Are you my Baby. Is the outtake genuine? When was it recorded? If it was recorded in 88 as is believed, why wasn't Prince credited on the W&L record?

I believe this was another one of those SeamoreFunk guy tracks.

He has some other songs that people thought was Prince, even though he doesn't sound anything like him. That SeamoreFunk person had some other track that had vocals extremely similar to that Tickle My Pickle song.

Here's a site with some of his songs: https://www.reverbnation....eamorefunk

Is that the same guy who made the song "Pretty Bitch"?

I remember him, his songs, often also credited to "The Artist Formerly Known As ?" were all over the internet and often mislabeled as Prince tracks in the early P2P days, more than 15 years ago. He was kind of Dam Funk before Dam Funk. I wonder what became of him. However, I've never heard anything about the circulating Tickle being one of his songs, and while his tracks were strongly Prince -inspired, I don't recall any ripping off another artist's song as blatantly as Tickle would then rip-off Are You My Baby. Besides, I believe Tickle has only appeared recently, while Seamore's material goes back 15 years+ back. Do you have any element supporting this theory?

This was discussed years ago on a.m.p and a.b.m.p, that Tickle My PIckle song has been going around for years and much longer than just recently, I downloaded it from a.b.m.p and that was around 15 years ago.
But I don't have any evidence that this is that SeamoreFunk guy other than me and other people who listened to it years ago and think the slowed down vocals are similar to his.

Interesting. This may shed a new light on the topic. Was it included in any of the comprehensive collections? (Work It or The Work)? My outtakes folders are such a mess that I may have had it for years and completely forgotten about it, or even never listened to it before it "resurfaced" recently.

I don't know, I don't have those sets, I only have a folders with individual outtake tracks downloaded from a.b.m.p, direct connect and torrents, I never downloaded bootleg collections of outtakes so i don't know if it was ever included on compilation boots, sorry.
I do have older boots I bought like Jewel box I and II, cosmos, dreams and deposition but it's not on those.

lol I get what your saying but that BigChick poster is pretty on point regarding these things so I guess further investigation on it is warranted.

Using one's ears allowed some people to speculate that Prince sang on Satisfied or played the guitar on Like A Prayer and Act Of Contrition before it was confirmed by reliable sources. However it also made certain orgers claim that Prince secretly played the guitar on certain W&L tracks (totally unconfirmed so far), or secretly produced Martika's A Magical Place or Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines (both claims being utter absurdities), among other similar claims.

For that reason, I believe one's "ears", including mine, aren't sufficient for a definitive conclusion regarding whether a track is by, or features Prince, or not. In doubt, further research is necessary.

In this case the vocals aren't even remotely like Prince's...
And as for "Like A Prayer" and "Act of Contrition" (same guitar parts) it was known that Prince did the guitar work on "Like A Prayer" since the tape exchanges (also for the "Daisy Miller" tape) and their contents were talked about in the early 1990's by Patrick Leonard and Femi Jiya...

Yes, but my ears told me in 1989 when I bought the thing [well, on Act of Contrition, that is].
