Purple Rain -special, 14 mins "Pop-84", in Danish from Danmarks Radio-P3, (Old Radio-broadcast from 1984)

^ In Danish for the danish Orgers.

This sound clip is from radio P3, the youtube video made by... me. wink

Back in the fall 1984, radio-host Al Jones is talking to the journalists Lars Villemoes (Information - danish paper) plus Ebbe Rossander (Berlingske Tidende - danish paper).

Lots of Purple Rain & Prince praise, rigth - these guys loves his music!!

This is a 14 minutes excerpt, (originally 1-hour long radiospecial)

Content: the Purple Rain film-premiere in Denmark (1984) + Vanity 6 + Apollonia 6 + Sheila E. + The Time + Prince versus Michael Jackson,

Also, short from the Lovesexy Tour in Copenhagen 1988 + The Black Album "release" (bootleg) (this portion is from the re-broadcast, P3 2002)

It's always seemed to me that Prince (as well as P-Funk and funk in general) got a much stronger fanbase in Scandinavia, The Netherlands and France than in any other West European countries. I don't have figures to prove this, just an impression made over the years, so it could be utter nonsense for all I know. But if it is true, I wonder why?

The Westwood One Radio Network Broadcast about an hour of the PR concert. I taped it as a teen and listed to it until the tape broke.

Hi Wolfie87. Thanks for the kind reply, but I don't think there's a connection to Mats Nileskär.

P3 in Denmark, is the most mainstream radio channel, the national radio channel, in Denmark.

I don't know about the channel P3 soul in sweden, but thanks, it sounds you can listen and understand danish language in this video/ radio clip = cool... (you are swedish is my guess).

cool

It's so weird about Al Jones, the description. Mats Nileskär has the exact same style of voice. Even his English. P3 soul is it's own genre under the National radio station, also called P3. He's a legend. Moved to NY in 1976 and followed the rise of hip hop. He is the only journalist who's ever interviewed Tupac.
Mats quote about Prince after his death.
"He is the biggest musical genius of the last half century".
His favourite album is Dirty Mind

Yes databank..

The Netherlands (Holland) and Scandinavia had strong Prince connections, I believe this as well.

Isn't this right. question
