It's dated but high quality. Any solid engineer who can dig into a manual should be able to operate it just fine. Especially anyone older than 40.

I had friends who studied audio engineering in college, and all of them had to start with reels, then slowly adding more digital skills into their analog base knowledge set. If you're just pro-tools certified, this studio ain't for ya.

It's slower to go more analog (often), but a lot of engineers will tell you the payoff is in how good it sounds on high quality equipment. Mp3s on your iPhone? Meh doesn't matter.

I guess I could have been more accurate. It's aging yes but it is indeed extremely high quality. Studio A has digital capabilities but I don't know the details, B is analog. And as far as age of gear, it really doesn't matter - old gear, if it's special, can smoke new stuff given the right engineer, producer, and artist. Look no further than Sound City for a good example.

I hope PP management & the estate make up with Dave Hampton. If any work needs to be done with the studios put Dave in charge of it.

How are they leeches? If he didn’t want them getting his estate he could have had a will designating it to someone else.

That's it in a nutshell.

I'd guess that one question that remains to be answered is what exactly is the entirety of stuff that Warner Bros is entitled to publish?

I can't understand why it is so hard to fathom that Prince's music does not and never will belong to the family. Prince set up a LLC in January 2014 to hold his music released and unreleased ( the vault) with a charter to produce income from such assets and distribute proceeds to the beneficiaries of the LLC. No taxes are attracted to the LLC and the beneficiaries are not made public. Their may be trusts also never to be made public. He knew a Will was pointless as it would be contested as his Dad's will was. He knew his family. The LLC may never have been made public but the Court got involved. The beneficiaries may be his charities. I find it somehow denegrating to Prince and his legacy that the family are suddenly recording artists. Prince didn't have them recording in PP.

Clearly the majority of us know nothing of what situation exists with the orgainzation of the estate, news of charters, LLCs, etc. Not many of us have been privy to the legal arrangements so this is clear why people haven't acknowledged what you speak of. Is this true knowledge, or speculation of which you speak? I'm glad that you believe that Prince knew his own family, what a relief that is!

We know from court docs some of his sibs acted like fools after his dad died. Stands to reason he saw what would happen if he had a will. In addition, we have no idea how the LLC was structured or if some funds went into a trust.

First of all none of us know who the beneficiaries are and it seems like wishful thinking on the part of some more than hard facts. But IF the music doesn’t belong to the family and income is distributed to charities no one knows about then who has the authority to decide what music is released from the vault. Tyra says she wants it all out. What say does she have if the music doesn’t belong to the family? And who is overseeing the LLC and ensuring the proceeds are distributed to these secret beneficiaries?

He did an interview on Mike Dean's Prince podcast and he discussed the way Lonnie came at him. He wanted nothing to do with Lonnie and he questioned why no one spoke out about Lonnie's crap ass attitude toward associates sooner.

What we know is that when Comerica took over the LLC started being broken out from the Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson is court docs? We have no idea why this started to happen. It is possible that it means nothing but it would seem to me that if the LLC was just a part of the estate why would it be separate from the estate of Prince Rogers Nelson. Would the LLC not just be another asset like homes and cars?

LLCs are not part of the Probate case (nor is Ps corp) but they are part of Ps "Estate."

P was the sole owner of his LLCs and sole shareholder of his corporation.

When this all started we did not see the LLC written out by itself. In fact I believe this was discussed on this board at lenght. In fact the whole time I have been asking if it was possible that the LLC was not in probate because many people start LLC so they will not be involved with Probate.

I got beat down that this was not what was occuring. I think I am getting the wording wrong but I know from the beginning I said he set up that LLC so it would not be a part of probate. We know it is a part of his estate but those assets in the LLC are not involved with the Probate proceedings therefore we really have no access to what is going on with the LLC.

We have no way of knowing how it was structured. If he had silent members or members who became active after he passed. Or if members are a trust or charity.

How would we the public know anything about the structure of the LLC if it is not a part of the probate proceedings?

never understood the posts about purported 'secret charitable beneficiaries'...wouldn't those entities eventually have to declare those disbursements on tax filings? Next, people here will be claiming that Prince had arranged for money to be delivered to his favorite charities via chemtrails.

Tyka and co. will eventually have control over any music not contractually locked down. By not having a will directing that the music go elsewhere or be controlled by others, Prince effectively named his sibs as his 'favorite charity.'

we have repeatedly been informed here by a lawyer that the LLC was owned solely by Prince, he was the only shareholder and that there is no such thing legally as having 'silent members' of an LLC who are unknown or whose names don't show up on any paperwork. Once again, 'silent' members means they have no part in the running of the LLC, it does not mean they are unknown . The way to legally indicate that certain people will have access to the assets of an estate or a hand in managing the estate is via a will, not an LLC. Rinse and repeat.

The way to legally indicate that certain people will have access to the assets of an estate or a hand in managing the estate is via a will, not an LLC. Rinse and repeat.

How does this lawyer know this since I have asked this question a dozen times if the LLC is not a part of the probate?

Yes, you can have silent members and it does not mean they are unknown. I never said anything of the sort. How are we the public going to see paperwork for this LLC? It is not a part of the probate proceedings? Silent members can be members who have a say upon death depending on how the LLC was set up. Even if he was not set up in this manner will still have no access to what is going on since it is not involved with the Probate court.

Think and Think.

LLCs are not part of the Probate case (nor is Ps corp) but they are part of Ps "Estate."

P was the sole owner of his LLCs and sole shareholder of his corporation.

The LLCs were never "being broken out from the Estate"

never understood the posts about purported 'secret charitable beneficiaries'...wouldn't those entities eventually have to declare those disbursements on tax filings? Next, people here will be claiming that Prince had arranged for money to be delivered to his favorite charities via chemtrails.

Tyka and co. will eventually have control over any music not contractually locked down. By not having a will directing that the music go elsewhere or be controlled by others, Prince effectively named his sibs as his 'favorite charity.'

Yes, charities could benefit from a trust that was already set up with monies before Prince died and we would know nothing about it. How would you go about finding out who the charities were to even start to look at tax documents?

We do not know if he did this because we have no visablity and you need to stop caring on about a will. If Prince had a will there would be family members contesting it and acting a fool. For all we know some may have wanted to sell everything off and take the money and run.

Will do not stop estate taxes either.

At least a court is overseeing things and looking at the Lonnie mess it is a good thing as half the sibs still want to work with Lonnie. What if know court was involved at all. What sort of pilaging do you think Lonnie would have done by now?

Contracts are in place and we have already seen the WB contract stand up against greedy buttholes who tried to breach it. I wish more people on this board could see the real issue. Outsiders going out of there way to breach contracts that Prince wanted so they can keep music on streaming sites that pay pennies that he never wanted them to be on in the first place.

Even to the point of generating lawsuits that are draining the estate.

How much fucking sense does this make?

Sounds like they're starting a record label just to release new music by related artists (or not even related artists), and using their new found fame / Prince to promote it.

.

Nothing wrong with that. I assume they just want to be doing something, and maybe getting ready for when thay can release new Prince material.
