As the song builds I get goosebumps. Almost perfect in every way. The perfect meld of melody, lyrics, and production. I tell you...the stuff Prince would noodle on before noon in the studio and then order Papa John's. Why didn't he release this when it came out???
I faced it the second I heard it, such strong materal. I don't believe most are onboard though, so many posts about how sub par this is.
I will definitely buy this when/if it is released by the estate.

I thought the org had moved on from labelling new releases as MASTERPIECES.
But, I do agree, it's a great little collection of songs, and I'm glad to have bought it from seemingly the one person on earth with an inclination to release music by Prince that none of us had heard before.

It was all over "YOUTUBE" yesterday - Today it is gone!!!! There were so many I could not count them. Now - ZERO
People give the producer crap for adding stuff but the organ and choir was perfect.
What exactly was added? I cannot find the article. Thank you.
- He removed The Twinz vocal track and replaced it with a gospel choir. - Added Hammond B3 and piano sounds to add melody to the song. - Added a string instrument arrangement.

Thanks Strive, as much as I dislike anyone messing with P's stuff, he did a good job imo.

I like it but the man opera songs are more interesting, they have that whimsical air about them. I think if he had included them on Planet Earth in place of FBM Mr Goodnight and Chelsea Rodgers it would have made Planet Earth a more coherent album.

Man, if he had added these to Planet Earth, it would have turned that album into something listenable!
Strange that he made/let that album be so subpar and faceless (for the most part, bar a couple of decent-ish tracks), when he clearly had more interesting stuff in the can. Maybe just wasn't right for what he thought he needed at the time, which was an album to give away free with a paper - I guess he thought it was as chance to win over casual fans/listeners with a purely pop album... but still, to this day, Planet Earth is Prince's worst album to me.
Anyway, I'm loving these newly released tracks. Shame there has to be such a hoo-ha about the release, but I'm glad we're hearing these songs.

He has always said the best stuff is unreleased, I believe it.

You bought it already? Sounds like from the youtube video above The Prince Estate is demanding a hault to this being available for purchase?

Interesting here:
Who is the imposter in that video? It ain't Prince. Profile looks like the dude that played Prince in that mocumentary When Doves Cry that just came out.

The entire EP was available earlier this week on the website set up by the engineer responsible. FLAC and MP3 files were available for sale. That was in advance of its planned appearance on Apple Music and other online services, which is now off the table until at least early May, when the case will be revisited. I bought it (like many others) when it was available, not just through iTunes which got you the title track in advance of its supposed release.
