I like Mayte, but I think it's wishfull thinking on her part.

Let's say, for the sake of argumtn, that P had contacted her...Ok, he had been contacting people from his past to "make ammends" so she might've been contacted...But she's very close to her mother who not ony lives with her, but despises P after the baby's death and the divorce. Do y'all really see P swallowing his pride to be in MG's mother's company or near enough for her to get at him? I don't think so.

And MG has a kid now, too....Since I beleive P was ill, I don't see him entering the lil girl's life, getting attached, knowing he'd be gone in the near future and causing her emotional turmoil, and MG for that matter.

I'm not gonna say P didn't still have feelings for MG that, after suppressing them all these years, he might've been ready to at least acknowledge...Maybe he told her that and that became the seed of hope for MG thinking he was trying to get back together with her, that's possible...But I don't think at any time since MG's divorce that P had had a clear/definite "Let's get back together conversation". All of her actions strike me as a woman being ignored by a man she still has feelings for.
