*ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM*

so, lemme get this straight...P didnt want to sing, "Your Butt Is Mine", but he's cool with walking into the studio BUTT NAKED???...around known sexual deviants like Quincy Jones & Michael Joseph Jackson??....either Quincy Jones is a liar, or Prince was more of a freak than we'll ever know...and just maybe John L. Nelson might have seen some wild shit when he caught Young P gettin busy and proceeded to put him on the curb...im quite sure he wasnt just cuddling up with one of the neighborhood girls doing regular teenage nasty...bless his freaky soul....

I can't imagine Prince walking around any studio butt naked (unless it's his home one), remember these are public places with staff like cleaners and secretarys etc, not just recording stars etc, also, they gotta get in/out of them from the street etc. I think it's more likely Prince was wearing some sort of stage outfit, so say like the Dirty Mind underwear/trench coat, that would be fairly shocking at the time on a black guy, so you could imagine studio engineers etc saying he was naked in that.

As for Prince & Micheal, I think they were rivals in the media's eyes, they were mega successful in their own rights and had nothing to prove to each other.

I think the Purple Rain film would have shook Michael, as he wanted to go into films, so to see Prince make a great Music movie, must have really shook him up, as Michael had always dominated Prince in sales terms, but this was new to him.

Prince was also quite a shy guy with his peers, so you can imagine him in a room with Michael and Quincy, listening to Bad and saying 'Thats a hit, you don't need me', but thinking 'You aint singing that to me, and I aint singing that to you, meeting over'.... but he would never say that to them at the time, so I think this is Prince explaining his thoughts later on when asked about BAD.

It is also possible that Quincy & John Nelson ran into each other allot, recording and playing gigs, they were session musicians also, and they worked in the 50's, 60's & 70's when it was allot different for black people in America, so they would have stuck together and kept to their own circles/clubs.

How about Antonio Reid said about MJ laughing for an hour at the James Brown tape for about an hour and Jill Jones saying Mike sat Prince up at that show. I doubt they hated each other but come on they did pal around with each other. The rivalry was built up by Quincy Jones which is kind of shameful and stupid.

ANYBODY would have laughed at that video of Prince running up on stage acting a fool lol I love Prince but he was completely out of it that night! He was clearly drunk and high as a kite in that video and nobody can tell me otherwise! NOBODY didn't set Prince up, Prince set himself up! Michael just invited Prince to perform on stage. Mike didn't know Prince would go up on stage and jump up on a stage prop into the crowd. lol lol lol lol lol LOL thinking about that mess, Love Prince but damn! razz

Please listen to the Jill Jones interview below. She explains what happend. Prince, Jill and a few other people were taking a limo to the show and they were all drinking wine on the way to the show.

She said he had quite a bit to drink and was not preprared to go up on the stage. She felt like the whole thing was set up to make him look bad. Not sure if it was a set up or just wrong time for him to be on stage. Antonty Hamilton said he watched the video with Prince and he laughed about it so it did not bother him however LA Reid said Mike showed him the video and kept going on and on about it just laughing and laughing. Mike had a little bit of jelously in him over Prince and definitely a mean streak which gets glossed over by his fan. We all know P had a mean streak because he admitted it.

Half of yall are taking twisted stories and the words of Quincy who has unfortunately gone senile to create this silly picture.

Michael reached out to Whitney and Madonna to do music. He reached out to Freddy Mercury and Mick Jagger. He reached out to Paul McCartney. He collared with Stevie Wonder. Michael had no problem working with others. He tried that with Prince but it wasn't going to happen, ultimately because Prince didn't want to, for whatever reason. Bottom line. There's no twisting this into Mike being shady and all that other nonsense.

And miss me with Michael couldn't be cool. Plenty of people who just hung out with Mike have mentioned how down to earth he is and that he's not like his stage and media personna when he's just chilling. Slamming a ping pong ball into someones privates isn't something someone does if your trying to make friends. Let's cut that out. However, I do believe that Prince and Mike kept up some type of contact, hence Mike sending Prince videos and Prince coming to the studio when Mike was recording History.

Did Prince slam the ball into MJs crotch or did Mike simply did not know how to play Ping Pong? Is the world coming to an end if Mike got hit in the crotch with a Ping Pong ball. I think that whole thing has been blown out of proportion by Susan Rogers who first told that story. We also have Sherilyn Fenn who said she thought Mike was being shady.

Is the world coming to an end if Prince slammed it into his crotch? Is the world coming to an end if we can admit Prince was being a brat and childish in a lot of his dealings with Michael? Is the world coming to an end if it's admitted that James Brown concert performance was abysmal?

So many questions. None of this changes the fact that Mike reached out to Prince like he did with many others and Prince simply didn't want it. There's no shadiness in that.

My favorite thing about P dodging this line of questioning and taking the higher road in regards to MJ cuz this was during a time period where P could've taken the opportunity to be sooooooo unkind, but he didn't and everyone in that room knew it and was holding thier breath...I'm glad that he didn't.

As for P "being not nice" to anyone who secretly had an agenda when dealing with him and played it off in public like the bully who throws a rock then hides thier hand...I can honestly say with a clear conscience that IDGAF.

I'm just glad that nobody came out of the woodwork after 4/21 to tell a story about P waking them up in the middle of the night to drive around in a limo and throw water balloons at homeless people...cuz only "good guys" would do that...allegedly...apparently... confused eek

But so many stories about P's anonymous "angel deeds"...I'm happy.

Well MJ had to call Prince up on stage, after he did a couple of "woos" and "I Love You's" he had nothing left to offer... he just stood there.

neutral Michael tore that stage up and had everybody on their feet. Prince had everybody scared because he was acting a fool on stage. Everybody has their wtf moments and that was definitly Princes. James Brown even politely handed Prince his jacket back and escorted him off LMAO.

How is it mean to laugh at someone acting a fool on stage? LA Reid is a thief, liar and fabricates a lot. Knowing Prince, I am quite sure Prince laughed at that video as well! He had a pretty good sense of humor and could laugh at himself. MJ was far from mean. He was very loving. He wanted to work with Prince and reached out to him multiple times. They both were competitive with each other but they still respected each other. Explain to me why you think he was set up? Prince was a GROWN man, MJ did not tell him to drink so much till he got drunk. Michael probably didn't even know he was out of it and just called him on stage because he heard he was in attendance.

and it wasn't the last time he reached out to Prince to work together. The discussed it for HIStory and I think Invincible. With all the quotes that have come out these past couple of years, you can tell they at least got along well with each other

-/ You really do not see the problem with Prince standing around while MJ dances around pointing and saying "Your Butt is mine" I mean you really don't see the problem.

From what Quincy wanted, it would've been them having dancing against each other then together at the end.

It would've been great to see them collaborate but it wasn't the right song. Prince wasn't gonna sing on a song solely written by Michael and Michael was already having issues with Q on his input on Bad so there was a lot going on

Your comments have homophobic tendencies. Would the same song be ok to have seen Bowie and Jagger doing it?

If I might interject...I'm faaaaaaar from homophobic, but...

The song "Bad" was silly on many levels, the least of which is that ridiculous opening line to P, in my not so humble opinion...

Firstly, let's begin wid de thought that a grownazzed man got up out of a twin sized bed in clothes so tight that they looked like they were his little brother's and put on penny loafers...to...

Secondly, posture as if anyone but a pre-pubescent girl would take him seriously as a threat to a thug...to...

Thirdly, go meet a guy who was originally supposed to be P but ended up being Wesley Snipes (both of whom I'd have had my money on in a real fight with MJ under any circumstances to soundly trounce his happy lil azz wid P's 1984 Oscar)...to...

Fourthly, think that P would be widdit, despite the thinly veiled lyrical insult to him...to

Fifthly, feel any type of a way besides grateful that P politely declined instead of (seeThirdly)...to...

Sixthly, even allow that silly messy petty story to be repeated...ever...

Actually, now that I think about it, after Joseph stopped the spankings, mebbe this was a very convoluted high concept plot to get a good 'ol fashioned North Minneapolis hood-styled azz whoopin'...

Jus sayin'

wink

//No and that got clowned for that crap for years. Do some searching on it people realize that looked ridiculous and fucked a classic song. Corny is corny it has nothing to do with being homophobic. You need to get a thicker skin.

Quincy Jones is full of it and always has been, only now it seems that dementia may be setting in as well. He said some slick shit about MJ when he was no longer around to dispute it too.

I'm going to need verification that he ever knew John L., not to mention some absurdity about Prince running around the two of them naked. People really will swallow anything. disbelief

Quincy Jones is full of it and always has been, only now it seems that dementia may be setting in as well. He said some slick shit about MJ when he was no longer around to dispute it too.

I'm going to need verification that he ever knew John L., not to mention some absurdity about Prince running around the two of them naked. People really will swallow anything. disbelief

I volunteer to fully examine any secrity camera footage that surfaces in this matter...You know, for scientific research purposes...

eek

--It is mean if you are looking at years later and re-watching it over and over again giggling like a fool which is the way LA Reid described it. I already stated that Prince watched it with Antony Hamilton and laughed but I bet he was not watching everyday life goes on. I did not say he was set up Jill said that everybody at the show was old and the polyester crowd and she felt it was a set up. I actually always thought that he was out in the audience chilling and did not see what the big deal was in the first place. Ask Terrance Trent Darby if Mike is nice or the tape of Mike wishing death on Prince. Where did you hear a tape of Michael WISHING death on Prince? I would like to hear that tape, because I have never heard this assertion, other than on this forum. [Edited 1/6/17 19:29pm]

A tabloid ran a story about Michael speaking on tape with the ghostwriter of his book about Prince and that Prince was the type to commit to kill himself trying to compete. The tape never surfaced and the ghostwriter came out to dispute the story shortly after.

I found out something very interesting while searching for this...When I searched for "Michael Jackson hated Prince", a whole bunch of links came up...Then I searched for the opposite out of curiosity and not one article saying P said anything bad about MJ...All the links were from the first search...Hmmm...

Cool and hip Prince teasing insecure and weak Michael and MJ hating Prince. When it comes to the MJ/Prince story, the money is still there confused

Maybe it is because Prince never said anything bad publicly about MJ. He had enough sense to know he would look like an ass and he kept his mouth closed.
