not having privacy in family death situations has been horrible for me and I didn't have cameras fucking around when my people were dead or dying. Just not even getting to be alone without some nurse coming in every 2 seconds was enough to ruin the last moments i had with my mom. If you had to add cameras and thousands of viewers speculating on if my grief was genuine or if i cried enough for you or too much and i was acting, just ridiculous. Maybe someday we'll see the folly of celebrity.

yesterday i was rewatching footage of bruce lee's funeral, my mentor was there as a pallbearer but he didn't speak, james coburn and steve mcqueen were there and Coburn gave a little speech with delivery befitting the actor he was. I'm sure he felt something but the cameras probably had him pulling out his acting chops and the sotto voce, do i think that was real? fuck no. does it matter? not really. they're both dead now, life is short, it's hard but i try to focus on things that do matter.

.

Pete: I'm so sorry about your Mom. I lost my Mom 3-years ago also, and she died in the hospital, so I understand how you feel. I was very upset with how things were handled in the hospital and the Nurses were negligent. My Mother died in the ICU, and I feel if they had gotten to her soon, she might have been saved. It is a horrible memory for me, to lose my Mother like that.

.

Anyways, just wanted to reach out to you. Peace & Love! heart

ya, i'm not trying to be one of those people who says "look at her, she ain't even crying" I'm not meaning it like that. and yes, the public shit is just a ridicluous addition to what most people get to do in private. it happened with michael too, everyone is going "so and so didn't care and so and so actually does" or whatever. i just think the reactions are just kind of wierd that's all. But maybe that's a family trait, i remember prince being what psychologist would call "flattened affect" or "schizoid" maybe it's a family trait. We know there is some dysfunction there. Like Gene Hackman said in that movie "everyone grieves differently".

I give Tyka the benefit of the doubt, because I know when my Mom died, my emotions were like a roller coaster. The grief comes in waves. At the time Tyka sat down and gave that interview with ET & Today Show, she was probably in a different frame of mind. Sometimes, when someone is sitting in front of you, and you have to speak, your true grief does not come through. I'm sure she has moments when she completely breaks-down, I know I did when I lost my Mom.

Yes, this. Tyka said in a recent FB post that it began to hit her hard after the memorial show. She said something about not getting upset if she started to cry when you saw her (I think she was speaking to actual friends, here, not necessarily FB friends). Grief is just different for everyone.

just yesterday i learned that someone i know's mom just died. I knew the mom was sick but I didn't ask too many questions. Anyway, this morning I was thinking of how well she seemed to be dealing with it, how I couldn't see any change. i know that wasn't the case when my mom died. What this particular persons grief and feelings actually are, I don't know, if she's grieving privately, of how much she's grieving, no telling from the impressions i'm getting.

Huh? Suspicious deaths occur every single day is this country and right in our own neighborhoods. Do you watch the news? I see no difference between the sudden/supicious death of a celebrity and a common citizen. confused

I agree that Humans die and stars are human (rock stars), not the one's in our solar system though. eek

yeahthat

It happens all the time. I have a student this semester whose father died in similar circumstances to Prince -- taking far more of an opoiod that he ever took and enough that it would kill anyone. It took a couple of weeks but everyone became suspicious and a few weeks after that, the "girlfriend" was arrested for manslaughter.

He was out of it and she crushed a ton of pills and fed them to him "because he asked for them."

The only difference between my student's father and Prince -- aside from the musician/fame thing -- is that the dad was known to be addicted to painkillers.

Further, my cousin's husband allegedly committed suicide 40 years ago. Even though it was ruled a suicide, many family members don't agree because of how he was shot. It would have been very difficult for him to do it by himself.

I know this is anecdotal, but this happens a lot. When things don't add up, family and friends absolutely do try to figure it out with any theory they can muster that makes better sense.

neutral

sure families do. but I've seen in the cases of a couple boxers who committed suicide, the families and large segments of their fans believe someone murdered them. Alexis Arguello had gotten into politics in his native country and some people think he was murdered. They point to how he was shot in the chest instead of the head. I think he killed himself. Arturro Gatti likewise killed himself and people blame his girlfriend for murdering him as if a woman could manhandle a former world champion, lift him off the floor and hang him. Even if he was passed out, i've looked at the evidence and it looks like a suicide to me. His fans and family still blame the woman.

at any rate, more answers will likely only come slowly, something looks like it's being covered up but it'll come out. I can't see Prince being such a raving drug addict that he'd completely lost his fucking mind and wouldn't heed the warning of a previous overdose (if that's what the moline incident was) and od'ing a couple days later and that's the whole story. Lots of people in the public eye do image management and it persists after they die. I've mentioned Walter Payton who's cancer was likely caused by pill abuse, I've mentioned bruce lee who they tried to say died of a pain pill but I haven't mentioned people like Miles Davis and Lyle Alzado, two guys who were rumoured to have died of aids and in Alzado's case, he covered it up by saying steroids caused his brain cancer. Steroids don't cause brain cancer as far as I know, but aids can. Tommy Morrison, the boxer, denied to the last that he had aids and spent the last year of his life laying up in a hospice before dying a couple years ago.

--Tommy did come out and admit he was HIV positive and steroids can cause Cancer his ex-wife said that he was wacked out on steroids the whole of his football career and they have led to cancer.

Well u can pick the occasionnal anecdote from the newspapers but fact is that I know more people than most people do and never in my lifetime did I meet anyone who found anything suspiscious about the death of someone they knew personally.

good for you, your experience isn't universal and neither is mine. It does happen. Usually, in my opinion, it's to take away some of the pain, especially with suicide. I can think of more cases where someone suspected some sort of foul play with a suicide, of people who weren't even famous. Throw in some cultural suspicion and you have lots of black people who think accidents/suicides were murders. Remember the story of Malcolm X's dad being pushed onto railroad tracks? the family really believes that to this day I think, I think some objective looks don't prove anything suspicious. Like I said, people do things to rationalize senseless deaths. With Prince, I'll only go so far as to say we don't have much info yet, i wouldn't say anything about conspiracy or murder and i do wish that if the people who were around him (appolonia and that guy Crutchfield) would stop hinting stuff without any proof, if nothing else, it really makes them look bad.

It certainly happens but not too often. My dad used to be a notary, dealt with death and wills his whole life, I can ask him (his experience certainly is as universal as can be). Your points are valid, though, but there are also a lot of people with emotional and/or psychiatric issues on the Org. As for those hints by associates (Cat more recently), I have no idea what it is about but my position in that regards is "if u know something either say it in full or don't mention it at all, but don't make yourself sound like a lunatic with cryptic hints".

--Adrian did not say he knew anything he said he would know a dope addict immediatly because of all the dopers in his family and that fact that he sold drugs himself when he was in college. He worked with Prince for four years and looked in his face. In his opinion Prince was not a drug addict and Adrian is not the only one saying this. Sorry I will take what has to say over fans. I find it interesting that people who did not know him are written off by fans as know nothings and fans who did not know Prince from adam feel they know more because they watch TMZ. Theses people were around and know more than you naysayers their is more going on with this case then some doped out rock star if you can't see then you may be under the influence of something. Oh we know nothing will bring him back it does it make it okay for someone to get away with murder. If you don't give a crap about the case move on.
