I wanna buy Lovesexy, my fave Prince album in many ways..

However.

on amazon, Nearly 300 Danish Kroner (plus shipping price), normal price is usually 179 to 199 DKR....


Why in heaven is that excellent Prince album soooo very expenssive :-/

I was lucky and got Controversy,Grafitti Bridge For $1.99each at the local thrift shop....I imagine when people die their families just unload alot of their stuff at the thrift store...i know we did with my relatives stuff nobody wanted

The vinyls and lotsa other P memorabilia are so expensive because there are opportunists only out to gouge fans/collectors out of their money since 4/21.

It's ridiculously sad.

Were the reissue vinyls cancelled, from Lovesexy and on...?

Has the WB company spoken somewhere about this?

All new pressings seem to cost an arm & leg, I expect to pay $20 to $30 for a new pressing of a single LP. I've seen those Neil Young titles, and the price is shocking. 200gram costs more than 180gram.

As a result I tend to seek out good quality used albums from the old pressings, if they can be found.

The vinyl price rorting needs to stop, all these albums at daft prices. I mentioned a week ago about the copy of Graffiti Bridge for sale at $79.95 NZ (About 400 Danish Kroner) and other albums all $40 to $70.

Yet I bought a lot of vinyl between 2012 and 2015 when Prince was very much alive and the average cost of an album was about $10 to $20 (50 to 100 Kroner) and a 12 inch single anywhere from $5 to about $13. Now you can triple or quadruple those prices. I wisely kept all the labels with the name of whatever the record was pasted down on a book.

I bought a mint 2 record set of GB in 2014 for $9.95 and it was a mint and obscure South African Pressing, the $80 album is a bog standard Australian WEA pressing.

Don't buy it, let the greed of some people consume itself.
