They spoke with a number of people about him. It's a good piece.

It is quotes from various people, including Chaka Khan and others, about him, what he was like. She said he became more paranoid as he got older, but that he also became more human. He grew as a person into someone more empathetic.

There's a story from Morris Hayes about he and Prince once going to ACE Hardware in Chanhassen during winter. I'm not sure what they needed to buy but Morris went into the store and had Prince wait in the car. All of a sudden he sees Prince walking down the isle with a bunch of stuff in his hands. Morris asked him what he did with the car and Prince says it's still running. lol Morris freaks out thinking the car is going to get stolen. Prince looks at him and says, Morris, we're in Chanhassen, no one is going to steal the car. And no one did. lol

LOL. THIS is why he never left for long.

Morris shared another anecdote: Prince would go to the Caribou in Chanhassen to get coffee but he didn't carry a wallet and never wore clothes with pockets so he'd hand them a $100 bill or whatever and tell them to keep the change because he had no where to put it. lol

This isn't from GQ but a sweet fan encounter from Facebook.😍💜

https://www.facebook.com/...38926451:0

...Friday came and being his wife and baby daughter were still in the hospital there was no way he was going to the concert, so he took a short break and drove to the Palladium since the venue was just 10 minutes’ drive from the hospital. When he arrived there were lots of people waiting outside to get in, including several celebrities. He made his way to the front and knocked on the door. A fellow cracked it open. “Look, I said, I have tickets to the show, but I can’t go because my daughter was just born, and I was hoping to get a t-shirt”. The security guard was gracious enough to let him in and he purchased some CD's, singles, shirts and stuff.

In the background he could hear guitars playing. “I asked, is that Prince and the band? He said, ‘Yes, do you want to see?’ He took me over to a spot where we were up high looking down at the band, and Prince looks up at us and he stops. The security guard tells him I have tickets to the show but can’t attend because my wife just had a baby.

Prince says in his soft voice, ‘What did you have?’

A little girl, I said.

'Aww’, he says, ‘what did you name her?’

I told him her name was Savannah. ‘Nice’, he said, and then he strummed his guitar and sang the chorus of The Most Beautiful Girl in the World. I was just stunned and amazed.”...

Funny how nobody is talking about this:

.

Maya Washington: "[Prince] was supposed to do something with Netflix, a reality show on Paisley Park."

.

(Yes, she's the dingbat who hosted that car crash of a live stream.)

Why do they refer to him as "the artist formerly known as Prince" on the cover? That bothers me.

Bothered me too. When he passed and CBS broke into programming to announce it the anchor called him the "artist known as Prince". I hate that too. Prince wasn't some stage name or alter ego it was his birth name. Grr...

Just picked up a copy. At quick glance, there are about 5 pages of smaller print (a good amount) of stories from his friends and associates. Only 5 or so photos (mostly smaller). The photos we've already seen. The stories are mostly newer to most of us probably.
I felt it was worth the $8.

Yes...He always seemed very gracious and sweet-tempered about other people having babies (as per the Arsenio Hall show and other stories I've read) - although I find it hard to imagine it not pulling at his heart-strings a little, given what happened with his own children...Bless him. broken
