Banal, stupid lyrics. He did lose the focus.

As opposed to the very profound "Shut up already, damn! Tell me who in this house know about the quake? (We do) I mean really, really. If you know how 2 rock say 'yeah' (yeah)"

Who didn't read it and hear Prince's falsetto and a bouncy beat?

I am so curious if others read it and heard a new Prince song in their head.

Cause tomorrow is taking too long
and yesterday's too far away
and the reality that you believe in begins to bind.

LMAO...

"lets jam...dont wait for your neighbor....green eggs and ham.."

yeah, Prince was never really one to dazzle the senses with shakespearean eloquence and wordplay, but he was a masterful songwriter nonetheless

if i had to guess what it would sound like judging by the playful lyrics...it would be a cross between Stare/Feel good, feel better / Love like Jazz. Also I can just imagine his dreamy and seductive voice cloud9

Yes, looks like it would be something funky. Who knows, maybe he recorded it and we'll hear it some day.

If I get the opportunity (and have my wits about me still by that point of the tour), I hope to ask if they found a recording, even partial, of this song...

Reading the lyrics, I can't think of a more appropriate last song for Prince to be working on.

Maybe we shouldn't see or hear every single thing Prince worked on. those lyrics are pretty rudimentary.

Obviously, the last song from a great artist you would want something profound and deeply personal .but his life was cut short too soon. It's not a final farewell song..but how could it be when he didn't know... So sad...he thought it was another song not realising today we would be reading those lyrics looking for some meaning, some comfort.

I don't think it's some heavy song, it's probably about as meaningful as "Xtralovable", but accidentally it is a nice phrase to go out on. It's kind of more badass than if say, "Way Back Home" was his last song. Stay cool. Peace out. cool

I like this way of looking at it. smile

We don't know if he worked in this or wrote it on his last night. But he could have. If nothing else, it seems to be recent.
