Who owns the PRNFamily twitter account?

This new twitter account showed up called PRNFamily. Does anyone know who owns it? They've only posted 4 times so far but said yesterday they have an announcement coming soon and then this morning tweeted "We're listening 💜". Is this an official family twitter account run by Tyka? Very strange.

I've been wondering as well. How does one know what/who "official" is?

Accounts that have "official" status have a check mark (or something like that).

Yes but it can take a long time to get that status and a lot of legit twitter accounts don't have that status.

The description of this account says "Follow for family endorsed news and events Official #PRNFamily Twitter

I noticed nothing on this account regarding the Oct 13 concert.

Not nitpicking, but the checkmark is a verified account; that's probably what you're referring to. There are actually a lot of "official" accounts out there, whether with celebrities or businesses etc., that are truly official to the entity, but not verified with the blue Twitter checkmark. It's not easy to get, per se, especially with something so rogue and random like this, so early on. Even high profile people have to go through a bit of a process with a photo of themselves and their ID to verify they are running the account and that it is theirs alone.

As far as PRNFamily:

PRNFamily.com, .net, and .org were just purchased a month ago today (20.Aug.2016), so you could almost surmise it's going to be a site coming up. They also list the contact as Omar Baker. The address for the person who registered is 115 King Creek Road (this is public information, by the way). If you look at an article by TheCurrent.org when they listed Prince's properties, it lists that address as where Mattie & Hayward lived: http://blog.thecurrent.or...-property/ One could think that Omar lives there now.

PS I once noted that Prince owned a house on Dakota Avenue in Chanhassen ( http://prince.org/msg/7/423014 ), very close to Paisley Park. That same house is listed in that article.

Very interesting. Thanks for the investigative work! I'm a little fearful though that we're going to end up wit the family doing one thing and Bremer another. According to that Rolling Stone article Bremer brought in McMillan and Koppelman to oversee then music aspect but the family wanted Trevor Guy (Donna Grantis's husband) instead. Apparently he was running NPG records. Anyone know much about him and his experience? Obviously Prince trusted him as he was part of the inner circle the last few years of his life.

Well, we do know domains are in Omarr's name. And since the name has "family" in it, we can let them have "official" as the family itself, not representative of Prince. Prince still has a twitter & instagram and website, that Bremer or whoever has control over. That's official to Prince, whereas the PRNFamily thing is official to the family of Prince, who obviously don't represent his business interests. They're superfluous.

Of course, all this is apples and oranges. The family doesn't have control over the estate, just their inheritance. Like you, I'm more interested in the estate itself, Londell, & Bremer's maneuvering through the coming days, weeks, months, and years.

You can choose to follow someone on Twitter because what they might have to say interests you or you can choose not to.

Nobody forces anyone to "follow".

There are those who care about the fans a great deal, and are attempting to provide direct family to fan to family interactions which cuts out the media.

Hope this helps.

So it looks like the "family" is stepping all over this tribute concert that, like it or not, is billed as the "official" tribute. I'm sure there are a lot of people who purchased tickets that's aren't up to speed on all the politics behind the scenes between the family, Bremer, Londell etc. They're going to see competing events and think WTF? And by saying "there are plans in the works for YOU", that's essentially saying this tribute concert isn't for the fans. What a clusterf**k. whether the family was totally on board with this tribute concert or not they need to suck it up and support it. not doing so it's just going to turn it into an embarrassment which is the last thing Prince needs.

I don't take this to mean there's a "competing" event on the 13th. I'm thinking/hoping that this means additional events are being planned for fans in town that week. I hope, for P's legacy and everything he stood for, that eveyone acts like adults and puts differences aside to celebrate him in unity.

Well, the announcement conveniently makes no mention of the Tribute Concert. Is that significant?

One day the family will be in charge of the estate so if they are starting to set up their own events and reach out to fans they are doing a good job getting a jump on handling things.

So the family announced dance parties at the Muse on Oct 12, 13 and 14. Hopefully they'll provide more info on times, prices, if tickets are required etc. I really hope this is just augmenting the tribute concert and not trying to compete. But it's very odd to me that the official family account makes no mention whatsoever of this tribute concert. Will any family members even be there? If not I think that will be awkward and quite frankly a little embarrassing. neutral

The family is not running the estate right now so they are not always going to get what the want at this point. I would imagine a dance party would be later after the concert and remember a lot of people could not get tickets to the concert so this will give people something else to do.
