How far does Prince live from Paisley Park (estimate)?

Anybody with an idea in time or miles? I've never seen Prince in concert and I'm super young compared to the rest of the fan base and due to Prince being sick with "influenza", I'm starting to get worried. So, this summer (I assume he might be back in Chanhanssen then) I'm gonna fly up to Minnesota and try to meet him (don't worry - I won't be creepy or anything) at Paisley Park or stumble across his residence. I've got business plans and other ideas that my professor says are pretty good so it won't be like I'm just there.

Weren't both houses, on Galpin and Kiowa Trail, demolished? I just assumed he now lives at Paisley when he's in town.

We'll my professor has run, turned around, and started several prominent dance and musical theatre institutions in his lifetime. I think his opinion holds some weight when it comes to that sort of thing. Though, my ideas have less to do with Paisley Park and more with distribution and marketing, I'm sure I could come up with great ideas to the commercial success of Paisley Park or NPG.

Originally, Paisley Park had no residential accomodations. It truly was a business, and run as such. However, with the make-over in 1996 or so, and Prince closing the doors to any outside company wanting to use it, for the most part, one would assume that there is now possibly some residential quarters remodeled into it.

I still never heard what the egg structure was on the property. Just theories.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

You had your chance, Manuela. Move on.

And give people an opportunity to steal them. No way. The worst thing that could happen is people who don't share my values getting a hold of them and implementing them unfavorably.

Comfirmed. Egg was created as a restaurant which was not legal since paisley park is not zoned for food and beverage.

Paisley Park is on the corner of Arboretum Blvd (also known as Rte 5) & Audobon Road (listed on Audobon Road).

Prince's house, according to celebrity house sites, lives 2.3 miles from Paisley Park (per Google Earth directions), on Dakota Avenue. (You can look up the address if you wish, I'll only post the street here.)

You get to his subdivision by way of Rte 5, so it's pretty much a straight shot off Rte 5. Dakota isn't a long street, and Prince's house, allegedly, is in a little scoop in the road, where 2 or 3 houses are almost on a super mini cul-de-sac. But it's not part of a dead end or anything. It's just odd how the curb and properties are scooped back from the road a bit. It's not necessarily private, but looks like a decent sized house. It's definitely smaller than the Galpin house, and it's always hard to tell the size or depth of the Kiowa Trail house.

The Galpin house, which is long since demolished, is 1.9 miles from Paisley Park.

Yes, both Kiowa Trail and Galpin homes are gone. I assume Prince still owns the land, as both have never been sold, for sale (to my knowledge), or redeveloped. The Galpin property had a pool, and a path out to a gazebo. All that is gone, and filled in. Grass has long grown over all of it. You can barely see the outline of that on aerial shots of the property.

.

Cool! My son's name is Dakota. Actually, my ex wanted to name him Cody James and call him CJ. It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized the connection of "CJ" to Prince. My ex wasn't a Prince fan and would not have known about that connection either. But we ended up going with "Dakota" obviously.

Assuming most obsessive stalker fans are likely to be single and crazy overwight women with cats for friends, I would be too. Anomymous fan are you 400 pounds and single with a cat called Lan Choo or live in the Ertha Mae Jones projects?

On the other hand, I personally know of one fanatic, a male, who moved to Minneapolis with the express intention of getting a job at Paisley Park. This person went there constantly, left many resumes, and made a pest of himself but, in the end, he achieved his goal and did end up working for Prince for a number of years. That it happened still amazed me, but apparently it can. lol Or rather, it could. The situation I described occurred a very long time ago and things are radically different at PP now vs decades ago and I think AnonymousFan should accept reality, not "go visit" Prince and avoid disappointment and major embarassment or perhaps the police getting called, or maybe all the aforementioned. lol

*

*

Just wondering though, AnonymousFan: should you "stumble across his residence", how will that work insofar as communicating your ideas and 'business plans' to Prince? It's not like he'll be outside tending his garden or sitting in a lawn chair in his garage drinking a beer and watching his other neighbors (that is a popular pastime here in Minnesota in the summertime, true - but I don't think Prince is into that. lol) So will you run after him if you see him arriving/leaving his house, begging him to hear you out? Will you tape a copy of your ideas and plans to his door? I'm very curious how you intend to get across your ideas or business plans in a professional manner, in the scenario/s you presented...

Well, I'd rather not chase him or shout. That looks agressive and I wouldn't wanna come off wrong. I figured walking and talking at a normal tone and pace would be most okay. I'm pretty non-threatening in basically every way and I have no negative intentions for him. I planned to knock on the door or something or leave it on his lawn if I got no answer. I figured maybe a bodyguard would approach me before I ever saw him. In which case, I'd give it to one of them and ask that they give it to Prince.
