1) Absolutely essential (and great) albums. I prefer The Chocolate Invasion to most of the 90s stuff.

2) Never pressed to CD . Ever. Only released and available digitally.

someone was showing off their CDs and i said "you know they're not real"

that did not go over well at all. I guess spending $200 each meant they had to be real!

Hahaha oh my - I don't blame you for that - or them.

With that said - at the time of purchase I could still understand it. They haven't been available on Tidal all that long to my understanding. Had I really wanted them say, 5 years ago, I can see myself taking the plunge haha

Edit: with that said I bet they felt just USED haha

This one is gonna get some really heavy play around my house. And also - yes there is a HUGE difference in the sound quality - what great advice you all have always given me - thank you for all this. I would have selled out the $$ for some stupid eBay bookleg in MP3 format if you guys hadn't let me know about this album being on Tidal in flac format - I feel like I owe you all so much haha

Tidal can go suck a dick. I like the fact Prince wasn't going to give his music to Itunes, so what happens when those greedy fucks at Tidal finally sell up to Itunes?

You can buy the albums legitimately from Tidal. This is the only way to buy these releases and have the money go to the estate as it should.

The Chocolate Invasion

.
The Slaughterhouse
http://tidal.com/us/store...m/50835835

.

My advice - buy them both in FLAC, make a reliable backup of them, and decide when and where you want to listen to them.

Yes, a back-up is always a good idea. I always burn anything on cd (I'm old fashioned I guess) and I always make a back up in the cloud. Just in case anything goes wrong in what way ever, I can always get back to that back-up.

I learned that waaaaay too late.

I haven't listened to the others yet - just TCI so far - since I'm going to lose the experience of listening to them for the first time I don't want to listen to them all back to back - I'm making them all little experiences and spacing them out.

.

I had heard some widely different opinions on TCI and I feel it's phenominal and I'm overjoyed I liked it as much as I did.

.

Will probably be quite a happy camper when checking out the others. Glad you like them too Jon!

My expectation is, now that Prince isn't around, we will eventually see everything that is available to purchase show up on iTunes. Prince was making a point and fighting their business practices. Whomever gains control when the estate is worked out will be more concerned with maximizing profit than fighting the system. Wait and see...

Not dead, not in prison, still funkin'...
