"Ah for fuck's sake, you can't even follow your own logic. Guess what year Ultimate Prince was released?"

Just as a point of order, is there a particualr reason that Bart is exempt from the rules we are all supposed to follow?

It could come down to interpretation. For instance "offensive" shouldn't even be a criteria in todays world. People get way too offended about way too much for that to even be a factor. It's too subjective.

It could be argued that Bart IS criticizing ideas NOT the person in the above quotes.

I don't know, sure, Bart can be an ass, but he's usually factually right regardless if you agree with his opinions and of course, being an ass is not against the rules... lol

I'll say this, most posters in the politics & religion forum make Bart seem like a sweetheart in comparison. Just sayin'...

It could also be argued that Fortuneandserendipity is trolling. Bart is rude most of the time but at least when it comes to seriously discussing Prince's music he's factual and he doesn't make-up nonsense, which is why he's always had my respect despite his poor manners.

It is ironic in the sense that Bart has the knowledge but doesn't seem to generally like Prince. Obviously there is no problem with this, you could be an expert in Orchids but dislike Orchids. It just makes for an unpleasant experience. I just waited for years for Bart to tell us what he lives not what he hates, I'm interested but that day never came. It's his choice but it seems like a huge waste of knowledge.

Okay so - it was a given to me that I'd be grabbing Chocolate Invasion and Slaughterhouse at this point - and I have them both in flac and MP3 and I will compare them myself and judge whether or not I feel I made the right decision whenever I have time to do so.

At this point, other than For You, which is an imminent purchase for me atm, the only releases I have left now are the instrumental ones.

Keep in mind I've already got Madhouse 8 and 16, and even 24, so the ones I'm talking about now are the following:

NEWS

C-Note

Kamasutra
Xpectation

I know I'm grabbing all of them at some point, likely starting with Xpectation since it sounds pretty legit to my ears.

However, while on Tidal I checked out C-Note and NEWS and by god, based on the samples they don't sound too great to me. What do you all think about these? Again though - I'll be getting them all soon enough - I am just curious about this.

In my not-so-humble opinion: C-Note>NEWS>Xpectation>Kamasutra

Kamasutra is the only one of those that I just don't like.

Believe me I wasn't trolling. I just think the contract was protracted anyway, hence the nuance and confusion. Like I follow football really closely and contracts there are virtually meaningless because they can be reneged on in so many ways. It doesn't take much for a football player's contract to be torn up or renegotiated.

Totally confused right there. I thought as they weren't counted amongst the five albums owed they wouldn't be part of the deal. (It might actually help to see the contract ad verbatim ffs l o l)

The fact that you think civility and politeness are irrelevant will obviously come as no shock to anyone on this forum. To say that people don't focus on substance after your last few posts is truly mindbending.

Let's be honest, if someone asked you a question in real life, would you swear at them, shouting 'godammit', called their opinion nonsense and Bullshit, really? That would display bizarre social skills, it really would.
We know what's keeping you up at night, some long ago event in which you percieved Prince someone slighted you and you have dedicated your life and energy to attacking everyhting he has ever done since. It's decorum that prevent most people from stating this, it's decorum that prevents most people from being bemused at your relentless hate. It is however, your life, but if you continue to write in Caps like a 12-years old, call everyone's else's opinions Nonsense, attack anyone who know any less than you then people will always ask the question as to what you are here for. Anyway, that's my last post. I have enjoyed some of my time here and wish everyone well in their discussions regarding Prince and even hope that Bart finds some for of happiness.

Thank you.

Of course I do. Also note that you're equating being factually wrong with an opinion. No, "the sky is dotted purple" isn't an opinion, neither is "the earth is flat".

.

We know what's keeping you up at night

Nothing is, that is you projecting.

Again: nonsense. That's your lot's problem: you make up these inane stories based on what you would do and then pass them off as truth.

and you have dedicated your life and energy to attacking everyhting he has ever done since.

See, there's this word again: attacking. You're projecting again.

No "audible difference"? I convert a FLAC file with different MP3 encoders and they'll all sound different... And even if I use the same encoder (e.g. LAME) but different release versions (say the old 3.97b standard vs. now) they'll all sound different. I'm not even speaking of "quality" so much as coloring... they all color the sound.

This tired old debate?

People who can't tell the difference between MP3 & lossless (whether due to hearing, equipment, whatever) continue to scoff at people who prefer FLAC.

People who can tell the difference continue to mock people who are satisfied with mp3 or youtube videos.

Fact is, there is a difference, some can hear it some can't. Why argue? If you're satisfied with lossy, great! Enjoy it. If you require lossless for maximum clarity. Awesome, we have that too.

Why does everybody feel the need to be "right" and prove others wrong? It's silly, no?

For the record: I guess my ears & equipment are good enough because I can hear the difference and prefer lossless wherever available. However the difference is neglible enough with 320kbps that I am willing to compromise for the convenience & portability when using my iPod.

Just sayin'... unless someone is suggesting banishing one format in favor of another, what is the incentive to argue that one preference is right and the other is wrong?

First world problems... lol

So - if I understand we had these collections of tracks that were released:

.

TCI - already available save The Dance, though some versions differ slightly

TS - already available, though some versions differ slightly

The War - already available as such

ONA piano - already available as such

C-Note - already available as such

Xpectation - already available as such

Glam Slam Mix - already available as such

.

What are your thoughts on The War? I'm going to be listening to this tonight and I'm very curious about it. Some people seem to really like it and it is definitely a strange curio it seems within P's career. I already bought it, so I'm listening to it anyway - but what do you guys think? I've never hear even a second of it so I'm real curious.

1) Absolutely essential (and great) albums. I prefer The Chocolate Invasion to most of the 90s stuff.

2) Never pressed to CD . Ever. Only released and available digitally.

someone was showing off their CDs and i said "you know they're not real"

that did not go over well at all. I guess spending $200 each meant they had to be real!
