the original was recorded december 28. the rerecording is from the very next day, dec 29.
later horn overdubs were added by eric and atlanta iirc, which in itself would 'prove' that it
was rerecorded and that at least eric and atlanta heard it and recorded parts for it.

i think he's had it for way longer, he just never mentioned it because prince might have heard
about it and slammed some heads together.

they were already doing a tightrope act since the last few years all the best shit that leaked or

Yeah that always seemed a little odd to me lol, the title kinda reminded me of that scene in Spinal Tap where one of the band members plays a beautiful piano piece and when asked what it's called answers "Lick My Love Pump" which made it seem even more inappropriate
