For everyone who is saying "P was ill/sick", "something else other than addiction was going on", how do you explain the comments from the autospy report which indicated n/a (not applicable) for "other contributing causes" and n/a for “other significant conditions”? If P had cancer or some other health condition, wouldn't they have been listed instead of reporting N/A for "other significant conditions"? What, you think the autospy report is a lie?

You might want to refer to other threads that discussed this particular bit in detail.

The death report (what we saw is NOT an autopsy report) only gave exact cause of death because that is all the info that is required to be provided in his state. We have no idea of anything else that may have been wrong with his health because it didn't directly cause his death, the accidental Fentanyl overdose caused it.

I feel like he definitely looks thinner. Not deathly thin.... but thinner than say 3 or 4 years ago. But being in pain can ruin your appetite. Doesn't necesarily mean he had some fatal illness. If the hip problem he had is true.....that can be excruciating. And no, you don't want to eat. And combine that with pain killers, a crazy schedule, and what his normal daily life was like...yea, he'd most likely lost some weight.

Also, most of the pictures people are commenting on about him looking "deathly ill", "so frail", etc etc...are the ones where he has the big afro. I think that just adds to his already petite frame. Hair style can make a WORLD of difference in may ways. If he had his older "sleek" style of hair, I don't think he would look so thin. That hair just throws all perception off in my opinion.

I just feel like people are complicating it. I don't think there was a fatal illness he was hiding, I don't think he was a "junkie", and I don't think he wanted, let alone knew he was going to die. I believe he was taking pain killers...probably for a LONG time....for pain. Not for a high. And as any human, famous or not, does.....you become immune. You increase your dosage, change medication, etc etc. Being who he was, I'm sure the last thing he wanted was a prescription in his name for any kind of opiod. He knew how the celebrity thing worked, in most cases, you'd be labled a junkie if any tabloid found out. Even if you were taking them legitamitely.

The only thing I know is if his inner circle cared as much as they say, someone should have put their foot down and gotten him some help. He called the shots in his life and it seemed that no one could tell him what to do. But what about Larry Graham? Prince worshiped him. He's one that comes to mind that I feel could have maybe stepped in and done something. And don't even get me started on the relgious beliefs that I feel made some of this snowball YEARS ago.....

I love it when others are saying EXACTLY what I'm thinking. Thank you!

Here he is riding his bike a few days before he passed......what do you all see in this one? He looks fine to me here as well. Many pointed out his thighs/legs looking very skinny, they look like regular Prince legs to me here.

This pic is the ---very next day after being hospitalized--- according to http://www.aux.tv/2016/04...nce-party/

I actually think that his religious beliefs could have added years to his life. If he had not met Larry Graham then who know? We really don't know how long he had pain issues or how long he may have been taking any medication or drugs. He could also have distanced himself from Larry Graham and others to try and shield his problem and keep it concealed.

The religious beliefs thing I was meaning was if......IF......it was even true like some are saying that he needed a hip replacement, but wouldn't/couldn't do it because of the blood transfusion issue, then that in a round-about way caused him to depend on the pain killers. As far as Larry Graham, I just meant that of ALL people, he seemed like one that Prince would listen to and trust. Possibly if he would have talked him into the hip surgey that he needed....the pain would have been relieved and this wouldn't have all happened. Who knows.....the what if's, theories, rumors, and blaming could go on forever. And honestly no one will ever know what for sure happened, let along for how long things were going on. cry

Samantha,

It definitely wasn't taken on Record Store Saturday. I drove by Paisley Park Sunday morning and it wasn't nearly that green.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

Says in the article it is the very next day after his hospital landing. If you look at the afro, it is huge here, it was only ever that large in 2016.

If you guys feel this pic is not from this year, then lets figure it out wth some evidence, i am very curious as well.

I don't need to take a look at pictures. If you just take a look at his weight and height

as mentioned on the death certificate, I know he must have been looking as an anorectic person.

I'm a woman and measure 5,2. I had the same weight 20 years ago when I had a lot of excersise, a fast metabolism as a 20 year old and a vegetarian lifestyle. I never met a man of that size who weighed less than 135 pounds. It is beyond my comprehension.

Wrong, even ask the medical folks on here, 112-120 is where prince was his whole adult life. 112 for a 5'2' person is still healthy.

Just wanted to point out one striking thing: notice how GREEN it is in the first picture and how it is nowhere near as green about a mile away from PP. The two pics were not taken at the same time of year.

The bike pic was put out there to stop any rumours about his poor health, including the 'flu' bullshit. Without trying to sound too rude, some of you must be fucking stupid to not see he was looking frail, I don't need to know his BMI, or be a doctor, I just need my eyes. By the way, there is no way in this world that he always weighed around what he did recently. I accept you can lose muscle definition with age, but that usually turns to fat/podge if you are lazy, and he was an active guy who kept fit.

Believe it, a director friend of mine used to hang out with him at various times throughout the mid 90's, she asked him his weight once, at the time he was 118, this was in 1994.

It is rare I come across any man that is under 5'6', but that is not the point, the point is that the weight he died at was not unhealthy, and was normal for someone of his height, frame, exercise routine (the concerts) and super healthy eating habits.

He seemed fine there, from what I can see. Reason why I do not agree with the theory that he knew he was "dying" of some terminal illness (AIDS/Cancer). It's not logical to purchase a brand-new piano and guitar if you know you are on your death bed. Just saying. Yes, Prince had been looking "very thin" in recent months, but he was always thin. He was very thin back in the 90s. When you get older, you start to lose "muscle", and I'm not sure Prince was working-out in his later years. I am very much like Prince, in many ways and especially in my beliefs, and will always stand by my belief that Prince did not know what he was taking. I think he was trying to relieve his pain; he was only human. I just hope and pray they will find out where those pills came from.

Prince seemed to be a control freak (as all great artists/scientists/creatives/perfectionists) seemed to be.

It appears that not a single person could ever tell him what to do or "enough is enough". He probably didn't know he was in it that deep. He probably thought he had control over it. Just like many do when managing pain/addictions.

There are two quotes that completely throw me though:

1. In response to his thoughts on MJ: "I don't want to talk about it. I'm too close to it." This was said two years before his death. Does it mean that he recoginised he was in pain and addicted to medication to cope with the pain just like MJ and he was worried about how it would turn out? Like he had no control for once?

2. After the plane journey 6 days before he died he said to Judith Hill "It's only by God's grace that I'm even here." Did he recognise here that it was completely out of control and only now in God's hands?

i a new here but for the MJ comment, I think maybe he meant being close as a rivalry...both of them are musicians, traveling long distances, working constantly so many similarities. Whatever, something was wrong in spite of giving that great performnce in Atlanta. He pushed himself...

If P had cancer or some other health condition, wouldn't they have been listed instead of reporting N/A for "other significant conditions"? What, you think the autospy report is a lie?

This has been covered before, but the autopsy results in MN. are private and M.E. only has to list the CAUSE of death (in this case Opiates) not underlying health issues. So therefore N/A is appropriate.

.

It would be nice if we had some answers. It appears we won't for sometime, if ever. I can sense the tension and frustration here. I just hope we can all begin to heal and not become angry with one another over opinions of his health, photos, etc.

Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.

So that means that he weighed 6lb less than that when he died. When you are starting from 118lb, then that loss can be significant, particulary if it is not explained by a deliberate reduction in overall calorie intake.

Just because 112lb can be found in the 'low normal' range on a height and weight chart does not mean that everything was okay. Weight has to be considered on an individual basis taking into account that person's baseline weight.

He looked to be getting progressively noticeably thinner in the last 18 months than he had before and going by the weight you quoted from 1994 that meant that he was just over 5% lighter when he died.

I don't see how anyone can look at pictures of him in the last 12m or so and claim that he has not lost weight.

Unintentional weight loss of 5% or more can require furher investigations. This is from the Mayo Clinic website:

Unexplained weight loss, or losing weight without trying — particularly if it's significant or persistent — may be a sign of an underlying medical disorder.

The point at which unexplained weight loss becomes a medical concern is not exact. But many doctors agree that a medical evaluation is called for if you lose more than 5 percent of your weight in six months to a year, especially if you're an older adult.

So -unless people are seriously trying to suggest that Prince was intentionally trying to lose weight, I think quoting 'ideal' weight is missing the point to be honest.

I suspect the weight loss was connected with opiate use in some way (probably withdrawal) but to insist that everything was fine seems a little odd when clearly everything was not fine and the absence of 'fine' resulted in two overdoses, the second of which was fatal.
