I only bought Conde Nast and Classic Pop so far (loved them). I´m afraid of ordering the others on amazon and receive a damm copy (saw many people complaining about that at amazon´s site) .

I still refuse to talk about him in the past (don´t think I ever will) and yesterday I saw Sheila E´s tribute on you tube and the hole time I felt so weird, seeing all those people singing and dancing without him on stage. At the end when Sheila came up with his guitar and lifted it up I just broke up into tears again.

I've only glanced through a couple of my magazines and newspapers but still have not actually read them. I just can't bring myself to do it. Right now, they're all stacked up. I hope Prince knew how much everybody loved him.

I was in the States a week after the 21st April on holiday.

And seeing all those magazines lined up together in the newstands was nothing but....... bitterweet.

On our way back home I had a carry bags worth of the mags that weighed a ton!
And once at home I put them away and have yet to read any of them.

I only opened up the Billboard mag for the Jamie Starr pic. Once again.... bittersweet.

All the magazines I bought are in a box too. Neatly together. I haven't read them. I glanced through the pics when I first bought them, but I just haven't wanted to actually read them. Maybe just not wanting to read the words that talk about such a painful reality? I don't know. All I know is I bought everything I saw that was dedicated to him, but I have yet to read any of the words. It still hurts knowing he's gone.

Different approach for me. I am up to about 25 with both US and British magazines. The process of having to find them has been cathartic. As my collection builds, I take them out, photograph the grouping, and post to Facebook.

I have skimmed all of them and thoroughly read a few of them. The quality vastly differs from magazine to magizine.

Outside of his music, I have never had the patience to collect anything in my life. This might be my first collection ever.

Everyone is different in their approach to the magazines, I suppose.

The Rolling Stone and Conde Nast commemorative editions are the best.

Rolling Stone collects Prince articles (or excerpts of articles) that they published over the last 30+ years.

Conde Nast similarly reprints articles from the 80s onward from its stable of titles and websites like Wired, Details and Pitchfork.

Same here. I can't bring myself to read any of the magazines.

I deliberately haven't gotten any tribute magazines. What can they truly tell me about P that I don't already know about his career after all these years? I enjoy his work instead and mostly choose to ignore what we all know happened unless I stumble across something new organically here. I try not to watch much about what the media says. They didn't know him. I'm mostly in denial, but it seems that's how I can cope the best so far. Some days I think about it and sob, but mostly I come here and look at pictures and laugh and try to be in the moment and enjoy him as if he were still with us on this planet.

Maybe thats why I havent read them...they cant tell me anything I didnt already know I kinda like to just think he retired...better that way too.

But I the Rolling Stone tribute one is great because of the "Lost interview" they did with him in 2014. I found that really insightful...probably because I wasn't keeping up with him then so I really have an interest in what was going on with him in the last few years.

Yes all the tribute magazines I passed up on Ebony and Rolling Stone though. Seems Ebony only did like a page or something

I was sad when MJ died too. He was my sister's favorite, Prince was my favorite. I remember I took my sister to see Prince in 2009 and she like lost her mind when he played a MJ tune, I can't remember if it was a Jackson 5 song or The Jacksons tune, I can't really remember but she was lovin' it!!

But it was like the end of an era when Jackson died and I got his CDs from itunes and remembered how great his tunes were since I hadn't listened to them in ages. But the passing of Prince was like on another level for me. I felt like I grew up with him and ofcourse he was my "first love" so it hit me hard. I'm still grieving!!! I can completley understand how Elvis fans feel now....how devoted they felt, how devestated they felt, how they still have him a part of their life in memoriblia and music even though he is long gone. I totally get it now. I'll be a grandma busting out "Sign of the Times" for the grandkids I'm sure.

I loved both Prince and Michael Jackson. People can say what they want, but I cried for both of them, but especially for Prince. I guess we will be like Elvis fans...old and still missing him.

Prince in the studio by Jake Brown. Been out a few yrs, I finally got round 2 buying it.

I did the same thing and felt the same way. All those memories, my youth, he was a significant part of my life....I really can relate to how you felt in shock at the begining and then a deep sorrow as well. I do think of him every day since April 21st as well.
