Yes. I remember when Elvis and MJ passed away thinking how I liked them vaguely, but how odd and over the top it seemed to me the way their fans were so desolate and destroyed by it. Now I get it. I do. I feel worse than I've felt when I've lost some people in my real day to day life that I knew on a personal level. It feels surreal to be so wounded by the loss of someone I never met and only knew as a celebrity. I can't even explain how it feels to people who know me cuz they think it's weird. But that's ok. I come here to folks who do understand cuz they're grieving, too. :hugs: [Edited 8/30/16 13:13pm]

I thought my heart broke when Freddie Mercury died...then Bowie...but the grief of losing Prince is worse than anything I have felt before. I had to stop watching the periscope from First Avenue last night, it was just too much. Just when I think I'm getting a handle on it, *bam* something else hits me like the proverbial 2x4.

Its a comfort to come here and be with likemided people, who get it.

I don't think many of us here will go for the magazines. They are just a compilation of all the things we all already know. They will be good reads for those who feel the need to catch up or suddenly realize they missed out on something.

We are all so full of doody here

When he died I wanted to remember him so I went through my collection. I looked at things I had not looked at in years, magazines, old vinyl, books, anything I had. I looked at my old tickets that I'd kept from various concerts over the years. I examined it all. It helped me to remember who I was back then and how I felt about him then and now... as the memories came flooding back. I remembered and I cried. I didn't cry the first few days I was in shock and denial. When the realisation hit me he was gone it hurt deep down..... I've thought about him every day since April 21st and he is someone I will always love. I love him and i love the memories I made, Take your time and do what's right for you.

I did the same thing and felt the same way. All those memories, my youth, he was a significant part of my life....I really can relate to how you felt in shock at the begining and then a deep sorrow as well. I do think of him every day since April 21st as well.

:luv: hug
Baby, you're a star.

Meet me in another world, space and joy
