Yes, very few people die of AIDS because medication is avalible for HIV. Just another reason it does not add up and I said I would not be surprised if he had HIV or some other sexually transmitted problem it does not mean that is what killed him.

The blind item claimed the black entertainer was taking his meds and got off of them because the religious group he was affiliated with convinced him that he was cured and no longer needed to take the meds. It's true that noone in the U.S. has to die from AIDS anymore. However, if you get off your meds, then HIV will become AIDS, and at that point there is no turning back. I know this is all speculation, but that blind item came out right before Prince died. Maybe it was just a coincidence that this report came out just prior to Prince's death, but no other MAJOR black celebrity has come to fit this description since.

...which was easy to speculate--after the airport incident.....

I am not even sure he was that devoted. He had plans to do 9 more shows and a show at stadium in August. I also have never heard of anyone with AIDS getting around the way he was. I could really see him fighting a hard battle with withdrawals and maybe waiting on test results concerning his organs (pain pills cause organ damage) or cancer. I am not saying it impossible that he had AIDS but doing a concert tour, throwing a party. I am just not seeing this behavior from someone with AIDS. Of course you cannot keep it a secret you have to disclose and he had a rack of women crying at his memorials and funerals were are the lawsuits we are almost four months out.

People keep pointing to his frailness, weight loss. Drug abuse can lead to weight loss, severe cases sometimes, especially going through withdrawal. So his weight loss doesn't mean there was another illness.

Yep, one of the symptoms for the drug fentanyl is Anorexia/weight loss.

Weight loss also is a sign of cancer-related illness. Cancer patients can lose their appetite well before they're even diagnosed with the disease, or even have trouble keeping food down if and when they do eat. I'm not referring to those patients receiving chemo, either.

In case you're interested, JWs don't teach "faith healing" as part of their doctrine. In addition, JWs also do not discourage medical treatment.

The ONLY medical treatment that JWs have ever been associated with not supporting is blood transfusion and even that is considered "a matter of conscience".

HOWEVER, The Church of Scientology DOES discourage their members from taking medication.

Most notably, Tom Cruise stated that Brooke Sheilds shouldn't take medication for depression and he further stated that Psychiatry was necessary on a late night talk show several years ago, no?

And who's to say it's the truth! It's mighty funny this never came out the whole time Prince was alive where he could defend himself. The media fabricated the story because they have always resented that they could NEVER get any dirt on Prince. Prince didn't have scandal and he was never in the news. This is their chance to slander him and it's still not sticking. His legacy will be fine.

It was really disgusting what the tabloids were putting out there after Prince died. I never believe the AIDS story, for one second. They decided that saying he was a drug addict and dying of AIDS would fit because of Prince's lifestyle. When the cause of death came out, they got real quiet.

I know. The media has always been envious of not being able to get any dirt on Prince. Prince could've been another Bill Cosby or Michael Jackson, but it didn't happen. Some even tried to "Janet Jackson" him on his Superbowl halftime show. With the phallic image behind the curtain with the guitar, but it was nowhere near enough to use it against him. Not too many people thought much about it, but it was questioned and they're were very few complaints.

people actually believe that prince died from AIDs...okay then.i see a lot of ignorance from people who have no idea on what the causes of Opiods has on an individual's body.

They have not taken the time to read about withdrawals from pain meds. Prince was seeing a doctor on an outpaitient basis for withdrawals. These withdrawals can on 6 months to a year, flu like problems that can actually turn into the flu. Weight loss from contispation and diareeha. He was going thru some hell and people have died from the withdrawals. I cannot stand it when people do not take the time to reserch something first before going off half cocked. Even looking up what happens to people with AIDS would give you some indication that Prince was getting around to well and the phsycological effect of knowing that you will be dead soon. It just does not add up. Battling addiction and other health issues fits his actions in the last months of his life.

Yeah from the beginning I knew that's how it would play out. It's frustrating as hell.

I think the whole U story was just someone trying to pigback on Prince's name and all the talk of dangers opiods, so they half-azzed tried to tie it to him to bring awareness. We'll see when this investigation concludes. Maybe.

It's also something a person may say if they are not interested in getting into a relationship at the moment, but don't want to hurt the other person's feelings.

Oh yes, this so very, very much.

I too believe he had cancer. Not aids, but I have no problem with that diagnosis, I just think he'd be dead long ago if he had aids. But what do I know. My instincts and experience with loved ones tell me cancer.

But whatever was ailing him, he did not use drugs to get high. I suffer from chronic pain and know the level of desperation pain can bring you to.

Yeah they reported that "a very popular black celebrity has AIDS" right after P had to make the emergency landing in moline for "the flu". They saw this as an opportunity to start a rumor, being it was very strange for someone to be so sick with the flu at that time of year. They didn't throw his name into that garbage because they know damn well he would've sued. But they knew that people would read their headline and draw their conclusions as to it being P, due to the emergency landing. Now that we all know the real reason for the landing, we know it was not AIDS related flu. Notice no other stories have come out about said "celebrity with AIDS" because it was bull!

There have been morons who have smoked birdseed with the intent of "getting high". Birdseed is harmless, but those people were ABUSING it.

Don't misunderstand, if he was abusing whatever then that would still be an imperfect human doing something wrong, but with his lifelong friends and family members saying forever n interviews how he shunned drugs and alcohol , it seems highly unlikely to me that at this late in life he's suddenly a substance abuser.

I refuse to believe that assessment of him. It's just not part of his character.

What is consistent with his character is his protecting his privacy. I can believe that he had something chronic going on, was taking prescribed medication for that health issue, and doing these P&M concerts to say goodbye to fans, enjoying conversations with old friends to say goodbye (whether he told them he was sick or not), writing his memoirs, and trying to enjoy whatever time he had left.

I think that he knew his time was limited. I think he wasn't going to allow himself to end up dying in a hospital, hospice or nursing home.

I think dying people know they're dying and he had said in the old 1983 (?) Rolling Stone interview that everyone teased him about playing music, playing the last note, then dying.

I think that was his plan. Work until he keeled over.

I also think he may not have been exactly happy at the very end, but I do think he was satisfied with what he had accomplished.

And that's not bad as a legacy.

And was Will Smith the only person Prince called? I am sure the investigators have pulled the phone records from everyone involved with Prince those last few days.

Dez Dickerson said in a recent interview that P called him a few days before and that they spoke at length, but that he would never tell what they talked about. He also said that he knew P to be clean living and had no knowledge of any drug abuse. It was a nice interview. He talked about fond things from the early day and P prank memories which were funny. I heart Dez. wink
