Never was offended by his lyrics, as I also listen to artists such as UGK. However, I know that I can't listen to all of his music among others, whom I think would get far more easily offended, or atleast it could make an awkard moment. The thing with Prince, is that it's some of the most private and explicit lyrics and music combined with alot of vulnurability and extreme confidense at the same time. People don't know how to react, and it just gets akward instead. He is a master at making uncomfortable music. What is art, if it doesn't make you react in some way? Prince has made people react in so many different ways, and uncomfortable is one of the many. Great art is often uncomfortable, provocative or weird to begin with, until people start to open up to it more.
