Been lurking for a while but first time post. Take it easy on me I am very discouraged about the lack of information coming out about the tribute concert. I feel somewhat manipulated as the message coming from the camp seems to be "There's going to be a huge celebration with lots of great performers that you don't want to miss but...we won't tell you who is coming, announce ticket prices or give info until the last minute. By the way, while you're waiting, go ahead and drop a couple of hundred on Paisley Park tours, that aren't refundable, should the concert line up be a bust or the City of Chanhassen doesn't approve our request." I know Prince operated with concerts on the fly. The aura of mystery and surprise worked for him because you always knew money and spent on THE man's performances was never wasted. I can't believe the estate would expect us to just take their word that something great is going to happen...eventually...even though US Bank Stadium doesn't have them booked and no artists have mentioned appearing. Does anyone, particularly you local residents, have any reliable knowledge on when there will be information released?

They might be refundable but you'd probably have to contact them.

all I know is, tickets go on sale in august, so I will only start getting concerned on Tuesday

maybe they are looking at sales statistics of the PP tours to decide how to best configure pricing for the tribute concert

Thank you. Who is the official spokesperson at this time in regard to what is going on regarding all things Prince? It would be nice if there were someone specific named, or even a Facebook page or a website that we can check or get email from...or is there already one? I know about the officialPaisleyPark page.

I know he is working to get a food drive sometime during the time frame of the week of tribute and is trying to get it worked out to be set up outside the gates of PP. I do not know all the details or progress but he wanted to do that because he said Prince did stuff like that.

I don't think he posts very often but especially in the evenings he's usually found in the chatroom here on the org or late nights as well. He is a native and current resident of Minneapolis Area. He was raised up in that area. I will shoot him an email to ask him to make a thread.

That's awesome. What a wonderful thing to help others as Prince would have wanted while we celebrate his life and legacy. I love this. People will for sure be in a giving mood, at least I would hope so. I hope he can make that happen.

I was thinking the same thing. It's weird that a week PRIOR to this weekend they have a Prince related event but not this weekend.

I deperately hope you know something that I don't. Right now its hard for me to imagine anything better than The Revolution Show at First Ave. with Apollonia 6, Andre C., Dez D. and Questlove doing the afterparty. It's August 29th and we're still waiting for info.....

So excited to see a fellow WV orger on here rwhiting! What city are you from? I too am planning on coming for the tribute concert (if I'm able to get a ticket). I booked my tour for Paisley Park for that Friday and definitely want to see the movies Wednesday night, assuming I can still get a flight in early enough. I was waiting to book my flight and hotel based on if I could get a concert ticket or not, but if I don't hear anything soon I may just bite the bullet and book it anyhow. Between the movies ForeverPaisley so kindly set up for the orgers and visiting Paisley Park, the trip would probably still be well worth it, concert tickets or not. I'm a little apprehensive as I have never been to Minneapolis and will be coming alone, but I want to spend some time around other people who I know enjoy P's music as much as I do and who have been affected by his passing as much as, and I'm sure in many cases more than I have. I would love for First Ave to have some sort of Prince themed dance party that Friday night like they are having for the Revolution after shows this weekend. With the way the tribute concert announcements are dragging out, I'm more excited about the idea of a Prince tribute dance party more than the tribute concert...
