last: somewhere in 2011, probably Malahide.

Afterwards it was too much hit and run, or not interesting anymore.

How do you all remember this? Is it bad that I have no idea? I've seen him so many times, I've lost count. Well over 100 time and mostly at Paisley Park. I truly have no clue, but I'm going to miss it sad

i became spoiled after seeing him at paisley park the past 2 years. I had a great 15th row seat in atlanta and thought "wow, he's so far away!" wink

Dec 1985- Cleveland Ohio Purple Rain tour (I really don't remember much I was only 12)

March or April 2007- Rio in Las Vegas

10 times in between I'm 42 years old. Just heartbroken I will never get another chance. I was going to go to Detroit in 2015 for the Hit and Run but couldn't get off work and didn't force the issue. Was also trying to get to Atlanta but same reason- I said "ok I'll get him next time".

I seriously started having Prince withdrawals in 2010...

Coincidently, his first tour was my first time seeing him at the tender age of 12. He was 21 and promoting his second album titled, "Prince". He opened for Rick James (The Fire It Up Tour) in Jackson, MS on March 29, 1980. I remember him coming out in that same outfit he had on on the cover of "Dirty Mind" and my aunt covering my eyes, and me going, "No, no, I wanna see, I wanna see"! lol We laughed about it a week ago. Unfortunately, that was my first and last time seeing the Purple One. Man!, little did I know what an impact he would have on the music industry.

Glad to see that someone has seen him before me. But, it appears that I have the longest span from 1981 to 2016.

I first saw him on mtv around 82/83 and was smitten. I first saw him live at Wembley with chads Khan think it was 96 was my hubby at the time wouldn't let me go to the 92 concert as we had no money. I then reconnected in 2006 and went to see him in Vegas 2 an after show the weekend after the Super Bowl was just stunning in a small room with 60 other people. I the. Saw him about 25 times in 2007 at the 02 the last time I saw him was at the fence about 5am on the last night I got to say thank you and that was enough for me was the best night of my life!!

Some of you make me drool with envy.

I've had many chances but I was never very social or prone to congregate in tight spaces, so I missed at least 5 great chances to hear him play that were super-close to where I live or work : Maple Leaf Garden in the 1990s (5 minutes from my place), and all of the 2015 and 2016 concerts in Toronto (HitnRun and Piano and a Mic., again about 5 minutes from where I work.)

On the other hand I saw him for ONA Live at Massey Hall and for Musicology at Air Canada Centre.

My biggest regret was not seeing the Purple Rain tour. IMO he reached his zenith with that album, movie (even though I didn't like his acting in it), and single.

It just dawned on me that the first and last time I saw Prince perform was at the oakland coliseum....sad what and where are yours? First: April 1, 1983 Triple Threat Tour (13yrs old) Last: March 4, 2016 Piano & Microphone (45yrs old).

also same venue in my case... Atlanta fox theater, 1st in 1993, then 4/14/16

First: 8/3/97 Jam of the Year, Lakewood Amphiteater (12 years old)

Last: 4/14/16 Piano & Microphone (2nd show), Fox Theatre (31)

Before the concert in April, I would've told you my first show was the one I went to 1/8/98 which was also at the Fox... I remembered the summer show, I just could've sworn up and down that they happened in the opposite order. So... same venue as far as my brain is concerned heh. Also went to Musicology, Phillips Arena 4/30/04.

Not nearly enough.

First and last, in fact one and only-July 4, 2014-Essence Fest, New Orleans, LA.

I've always felt bad that I had never saw him in concert, because I had been a fan since the man first started out, and I had seen a few other entertainers in concert, but never him, and he was my favorite. I was such a shy, afraid of the world young woman in my youth, and I let it stop me from doing a lot of things in life I now regret, including seeing Prince in concert. None of the people i hung out with at that time were into him, and couldn't understand what I saw in him or his music, and back then, I wasn't about to go anywhere alone or with someone I wasn't really close to, so I just never went. Anyhow, once grown up and no longer as shy and afraid of everything, I decided that I was going to see Prince at least once in my life, and when I heard that he was going to be at Essence Fest, I decided that it was time, and I'm so glad that I did, because it was my one and only time seeing him. I actually screamed when I saw him come out, because I was watching someone else who was performing, and put my head down for a second, and when I looked up, he had come on stage, and I screamed like a teenager. lol....my husband said "what, what?" and I said "look it's Prince!" I had finally gotten to see the love of my life in person, and he was as beautiful as ever! biggrin...I had fulfilled one of my wishes, but never in my wildest dreams, would I have thought that this would be my last time seeing him in person in concert, because I had planned on seeing him again, but it wasn't meant to be. I'm so glad that I saw him in concert, even if it was only once......I saw him, and I will cherish that forever!

I actually only got to see Prince perform live in concert on 3 occasions in my life. The first time has been fairly well documented here on the Org, as well as across the net, when he opened for Rick James back in the day. The next time I saw him perform was on February 12, 1982 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica, California during his "Controversy" tour. The last, and final, time I got to see Prince perform live in concert was at Madison Square Garden, here in NYC, on September 25, 1998 with Chaka Khan & Larry Graham opening the show respectively, for his New Power Soul Festival Tour. Not as many concerts as some other fans here are able to share memories of, but these are mine, which will tie me over throughout the remainder of my lifetime.

That is incredible!! We were at our last show together then. Like so many UK fans we never got to see Piano and a Mic... I had tickets in the basket and was considering going to Mpls from Sydney where I was at the time in Jan... About 2 days after I returned to London from Sydney he announced the Sydney dates.... Hey ho, it was never meant to be.. Hoping for perfect quality official CD and vinyl of one of the P&M shows preferably the first one.. I wonder if they filmed it, I know he was planning to at the aborted London shows in November 2015..

If you mean the first show at Paisley Park, then yes, it was filmed. I saw at least 2 camera guys filming. Both shows actually.

I am actually shocked that there are not more people on here that saw him before pre-Purple Rain. Are there any other veterans out there that can say they have seen him for a span of 35 years?

The lifers may not be on the Org, they're out there though. What a gift - to have watched this dude grow year after year. They're lucky! biggrin

I do believe that he was our gift. I loved him at 24, and now at 63 I still do..The younger Prince fams call me "old school" that I am.

time is a trick. wink cool I also went 2 that Lakewood show -- closest seat I've had at a prince show. I had made a little wand with a heart and a plus sign on it to wave at Prince. He saw it and looked down at me with a look that was hard to read, but probably something like "is that a hidden camera?" it probably annoyed the funk out of fans sitting behind me, oops, sorry.
