Adorecream

Hardly an exciting spread of time here!

.

FIRST 15 May 2012 - Welcome 2 Australia Tour, Melbourne - Rod Laver Arena (Age 36 years and 2 weeks)

and

LAST 24 Feb 2016 - Piano and Microphone Tour, Auckland - ASB Theatre (2 shows) (Age 39 years and 9½ months).

.

I cherish and remember every second, all 3 times were incredible shows with Prince in rare form. I was grateful to get the whole band experience with the Melbourne show and then intimate Prince with the last two shows. My only regret is not seeing more of his shows in the FLESH.

.

But I can say I have seen all the gigs he ever played in my country lol cool

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I believe ya!
I remember seeing Prince leave the Rotterdam stadium after one of the Lovesexy shows when we tried to follow him by car. Rumors about an upcoming aftershow somewhere that night made us rush after him on the freeway. That aftershow turned out to be the Trojan Horse club gig in The Hague.
Unfortunately, our Subaru Justy couldn't keep up with his Mercedes-Benz S-class limo, so we lost him after the first turn...
sad

Reading this thread makes me realize once again that Pince was really kind to some countries (England, Holland) and really unkind to others (his own USA except MPLS, NY & California.)

Coincidently, his first tour was my first time seeing him at the tender age of 12. He was 21 and promoting his second album titled, "Prince". He opened for Rick James (The Fire It Up Tour) in Jackson, MS on March 29, 1980. I remember him coming out in that same outfit he had on on the cover of "Dirty Mind" and my aunt covering my eyes, and me going, "No, no, I wanna see, I wanna see"! lol We laughed about it a week ago. Unfortunately, that was my first and last time seeing the Purple One. Man!, little did I know what an impact he would have on the music industry.

SHOW OFF! razz That's so awesome that you got to see him sooooo many times, I'd have lost count too if I were you! But most of us didn't have that luxury, so it was more memorable because it's more spread out. I saw him 28-29 times, I actually counted once (but clearly lost exact count along the way) smile

Definitely not trying to show off lol. Believe me, I appreciate how lucky I've been! I've always loved Prince, when I was young, I didn't even realize how famous he really was, I thought it was a MN thing. As I got older and saw how loved he really was all around the world, I also realized how fortunate I really was. The fact that my absolute favorite musician in the world was doing shows almost every weekend only 30 minutes away for $7.00 was amazing to me. Those were some of the best nights of my life and I rarely missed a chance to go see him.
I should've gotten out there more in the last year though. I always talked about going, just never made it sad

Don't dwell on not being there recently for A SECOND, seriously! You were lucky enough to have him right there, that's crazy awesome! nod
