Over the years it has been a secret love affair with P. Not many of my friends shared the same love that I had and still have for this beautiful man, until now. How can I express the true joy that all of you, my Purple Fam, have brought into my life. I have my days that bring me down and my mind wanders still in disbelief that P is gone and other days that I just bask in the beauty that he has left behind for us to remember him by. Thank you to the new found friendships and bonds that I have with all of you!

That song is a few up on my greates hits c/d, usually I get through Head and close it down but today I went to the end, wasn't ready. Gett Off, Cream, She's a Peach, no problem but that long Purple Rain with all his woo hoo hoo hoo, God kills me. My husband thinks I'm on the way to a breakdown, maybe he's right cause now I'm crying again. A few days after this all happened, I started "Princercizing", he's helped me lose a dress size already! This is becoming a marathon of grief.

Good for you! Congrats! That's something to be proud of. I wanted to start a thread to see what everyone's favorite P songs to work out to are, but I wasn't sure if that had been posted before or not. I too am on a weight loss journey. FYI, 1999 is one of my favorite albums to work out to

"Skip" or "next" are ur best friends right now. The "Woo hoo hoo hoo", the guitar, the melody...everything about the end of that song is paralyzing. I tried 2 listen 2 it once. Once. I compared it 2 tearing off a band-aid. Do it quick and leave a scar. The thing is... he is not on our exterior.... he only lives inside. The deepest part infact. He's in our DNA. He is music and his music lives in us. We are the lucky 1's who know what that feels like. It will get better. Promise.

I can't do PR. I tried to listen to it once and completely lost it. Jennifer Hudson's performance was the first I had heard it since. Lost it then too. It's such an emotional song in general and now it means so much more. It saddens me because I don't think I can ever enjoy that song for the right reasons anymore.
