I dig you and like your taste and your posts but that art was terrible. The album is no great shakes either but it's got some gems on it (Sticky Like glue, Laydown).

I always thought it was a little strange and off putting for Prince to go around dressing himself in his own album covers and wearing pictures of himself. It always reminded me of those cheesy store bought halloween costumes with the plastic mask and a rubber band and a vinyl "jumpsuit" or whatever it is that had "BATMAN" or "THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN" printed on it just to let everyone know who you were dressed as.

26ten

I decided I needed to fill in the holes of my collection last December, and I snagged my copy of 20ten for like $5 because there was just no demand for it. I put off getting the album for some reason, even though I liked the 2-3 tracks I checked on youtube back in 2011 (haha for like an hour I bet).

I gotta say - and a lot of people don't like it for some reason - it's in my top 5 for him. I just love it - thus the poster name haha

I think you may want to wait a little cause man $90 is a lot and you know what? It wasn't even listed on Amazon before he died. These guys are just scalping like none other.

I got like 20 more P albums this last year, and if I hadn't done it then man, I'd be broke as a joke. I hope these dudes who sell his back catalog stuff start getting more reasonable soon.

I hope you love the album! Not trying to get your hopes up - I'm just super excited about it and could listen to it for weeks! God I love it so much haha

Hahahaha. I loved those cheapshit costumes. Two years in a row, my brother and I both went as the Creature from the Black Lagoon, who happened to wear a plastic shirt with his own likeness, of course.

I think 20ten is a very enjoyable album if and only if you are a fan who digs modern Prince. I love it and listen to it a lot, but the people I've played it for who weren't committed Prince fans were like "turn this shit off and never be in charge of music again."

I get that a lot. Often, all I have to do is walk near the stereo and someone is wagging their finger at me "Don't do it Jon, I am watching you"....

I've got the free cd that came with the newspapers. It's in a card board sleeve with very few to no info.

The album is quite okay and it shows 77 tracks on the display if you insert it into your cd player. Tracks 1 - 9 are actual songs, then there is complete silence from tracks 10 - 76 and number 77 (for about 5 - 6 minutes) is a "hidden" track. This one is not quite my taste, but it's funny.

Very cool but what I really like is the physical copies of Slaughterhouse, Chocolate Invasion, C-Note, and Xpectation in your collection! (Yes I realize they were never released physically but very cool that you put that together!) I may do the same some day.

I feel kinda inappropriate asking but... I never got a physical copy of 20Ten either, only downloaded it from the internet. If anyone wants to bless me with one, I would be very grateful!

(then again, I already have the music so don't feel too much pity for me).

Yeah, I just like that they now fit into my Prince collection nicely. Kind of easy to do. The CD covers/back covers are available online.

I thought it was a terrible album. With the exception of Musicology and possibly Plectrumelectrum, I've found his 21st century output tiresomely average... but 20TEN was particularly rotten. lemon

For those that do not have eagle eyes, the hidden track, "laydown" is actually listed on the back cover. If you look closely enough lol

I did not get the album until 213 when Lovesexy06 kindly gave me a copy from her spares. I originally was not that enamoured with it, but now I really like it. It is one of his better albums overall and short and sweet.

.

Best track on it is Furturesoulsong which is just beautiful and very balletic. The opening pair of songs Compassion and Beginning Endlessly are great too. Less crazy about Sticky like Glue, Act of War is okay, Lavaux is very good, Walk in sand is alright, a bit too cute and candy like, Sea of Everything is a sexy little song, but I have to be in the mood for it. Everybody loves me is the joker in the pack and even though its filler, it is quite funny. Finally Laydown is very cool and I love the line "The Purple Yoda" overall it was better than the Lotusflow3r project, but sounds like Lotusflow3r Mark 2 in many ways, with a similar sound. It is my 4th favourite of the Post Millenium era behind Phase2, AOA and 3121. In a lot of ways, it also reminds me of Planet earth, 10 songs, later sound, bit of double entendres and wink and wink and Prince generally playing it safe.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Here's one for Tidal to add, I have the others they released for his birthday. I had to use a youtube converter to get 20Ten.

Future Soul Song has been on repeat for me the last month

I think like most albums Prince released from the mid 90s onwards there are some great songs but surrounded by weaker songs and even some not good songs (few terrible songs though IMO).

I tend to put together my own albums for the late 90s onwards anyway. In this case I took the best (IMO) from 2010 and the best from MPLSound (IMO) and made a single CD/album. Works very well indeed and makes for a far more enjoyable listening experience!

(There'll Never B) Another Like Me
Chocolate Box
Compassion
Beginning Endlessly
Future Soul Song
Sticky Like Glue
Act of God
Walk In Sand
Sea of Everything
Better With Time
Ol' School Company
No More Candy 4 U
Laydown
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

I've not met your cat but I'd agree. The illustration of Prince on the cover is almost alien-like. His neck is so long that giraffes are jealous.

Fine album, bad cover.
