I don't feel entitled to know, but it is just not okay for his name to be dragged through the mud like this for weeks when someone knows the truth. And the nagging suspicion that this is how it will always be due to a misguided desire to protect his privacy is not very reassuring.

Hopefully I will be proved wrong. But at this point no one is doing him any favours by keeping quiet. The damage has been done by now as most people will not even notice when (if) the real results are out. He'll go down in history as yet another celebrity junkie and that sucks big-time.

You don't know that people are keeping quiet. I mean, unless you are part of the investigation. There is an ongoing investigation.

And if damage is actually being done, that's on folks that visit shit sites like TMZ -- and then come here and post that poison for ignorant people to read and speculate, share on FB, and disrespect the man they supposedly care(d) about. That has NOTHING to do with Prince. That has nothing to do with his legacy when it comes to intelligent -- hell, common sense -- thought.

The logical folks on this planet will wait for autopsy results. They don't participate in the rumor mongering like you see endlessly on this website. Logical people wait for investigations to be completed before saying ANYTHING. Why? Because they respect Prince. They respect his loved ones. They don't feel they are owed an explanation immediately. This isn't Law & Order or CSI. Investigations of this magnitude take time. But like folks have said before, common sense isn't very common.

I fail to understand what you are doing on this site when you have so little respect for the people here.

Of course people are keeping quiet. I haven't heard the results, have you? No, didn't think so. They are keeping quiet. From good intentions, possibly, I just don't happen to agree that this is the best way to protect his name.

Once again, just to remind people of some of the issues that this family is already wrestling with in the aftermath of losing their loved one and trying to get his affairs in order....

Probate case

Sheriff's investigation

DEA investigation

Autopsy report

Trying to plan an official memorial

This is difficult, but I urge people to think of the ordeal that people other than yourselves are facing and find a way to resolve your grief without imposing another burden on a bereaved family. It is not their responsibility to respond to any petitions. Energy would be better spent giving them support and comfort, not the other way around.

Don't they have enough on their plate as it is without adding a misguided petition to the load they are already carrying? Please don't partiipate in this.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.
