I think a lot of people on this thread need to start listening to Carl Perkins, because they don't have a clue what rockabilly is. confused

And we all think that you ought to contact "Reading Is Fundamental" because you certainly have a hard time understand that the original poster is not looking for by-the-numbers rockabilly songs from Prince.

^He's never written a by-the-numbers rockabilly song, but some of the suggestions here don't even come close. Right the Wrong is as close to rockabilly as Cloreen Bacon Skin is to reggae.

No kidding. And that's why this thread is cool. The original poster was looking for songs that are rockabilly-esque. "Sister" is the closest. Simple I-IV-V chord structure, guitar-centric, and wild. That's rockabilly in a nutshell.

Do Yourself a favour, maybe? i know it's funky but it has that simple propulsive drumming and the classic synth line that prince uses on these type of songs.

That one is really the best choice. That guitar lick is pure country/hillbilly. If that lick weren't processed with effects this song could be called a Prince country song.

I liked it the minute I heard it. Was thrilled to hear W&L's backup and fun, clever "Prince" turns of phrase.

I can't believe no one mentioned "Turn It Up" yet.
