What makes this even harder for me (and I'm sure others) is the fact that I just went through this shock and grief only three months ago with Bowie. I comforted myself then by saying hey at least the world still has Prince.

I can't. I just can't. This is too much. I feel so empty.

Its over. Thought it would go for a lot longer but its over. We'll never wait to use the computer again to get those tickets to his show that we have to have. We'll never wait to hear what the next album will sound like. Everything now that happens, even songs from the vault, come from a time when he's gone. What do we do now. Tomo people will start to go on like its every other day. But not for some of us. This is no different then when my Father died. Tomo starts the first day that Prince will never be walking the same space as we do. I cant even listen to the music right now its devastating.

I wish we all were nude. I wish there was no black or white I wish there were no rules.

I never thought I would out live Prince. 2day has been a very sad day for all Prince fans. I have a terrible headache from crying since hearing the sad news of his death. The coverage of Prince has been non-stop. Family and friends have been texting and calling all day checking on me once they heard the news. I am totally exhausted from crying. Never have I cried or felt this way over a celebrity like I have 4 Prince. He was and will always be like a family member 2 me. I see now how Michael Jackson fans felt when hearing the news of his death.

Thank all of u fans 4 your love and knowledge of Prince. Thank u Ben and Staff 4 providing a place 4 us 2 come and celebrate this amazing man who brought love, hope and happiness in2 our lives with his beautiful voice, and amazing musical talent

.

RIP My Beautiful Purple Angel, RIP sad

Speechless...gutted...so very sad!

Prince has been a big part of my life since 1983 aged 13. The single most important musical influence on my life but not just music. Before he became a JW his spiritual all inclusive approach to life and acceptance of all people regardless of race, belief or sexuality totally informed my way of thinking.

My life has been richer for having had Prince in it. I have met so many wonderful people through my love of Prince and had so many amazing experiences. Prince's eclectic mix of music and taste introduced me to musical genres I might never have explored.

I will miss you.

Sometimes In Snows In April has been on loop in my house since 7pm UK time last night.

I am a 46 year old man and I am blubbing like a baby. My hero is gone never to return!

Completely heart broken. I'm seriously upset about this. In shock. I saw him play a few weeks ago. I've seen Prince play 20-25 times over the last 30 years all over the world, including just a few weeks ago. I met him once, his music has been the soundtrack to my life. I'm devastated. This day has come way too soon.

I thought this day would be many years from now. I thought we would see him grow into an old man.

It's too soon, I feel like part of me died today. The world won't ever have a musical force of nature like him again. Those 3 recent shows we saw in Sydney have taken on a whole new light now.
He was supposedly so healthy, but I always worried about his staying up all night and constant working and diet, he looks frail often and I guess his immune system wasn't strong enough. In any case, today I feel despair and loss like a friend or a loved one has been lost. Now we only have the memories and recordings. Devestated.

[Edited 4/21/16 23:50pm]

I don't think Prince had a decent night's sleep through the whole 80s. He practically bragged that he only got 3 hours sleep a day.

My opinion only: And the that's fine when you are in your 20s, 30s even early 40s you can get away with that but around your mid to late 40s things change. Your body can't take that anymore no matter who you are. You need to keep your body strong if you want to live long. By the time you get to 57, you are risking your own health by sleeping and eating that way. I fear that lifestyle might have played a role. I hope to god the religion didn't stop him from having proper medication. That would be super sad if that's the case, even sadder will be if they find unsafe drugs in his system. Time will tell. In any case. I wish he would have taken better care of himself and not pushed his body so hard in the last 10 years. You have to slow down...

I had to try to work all day knowing about this news.

I can't reconcile with it because I just knew Prince would live to be 100.

But what surprises me is the world reaction.

I mean this is some Michael Jackson type stuff.

It's good to know Prince was so appreciated despite my experiences with people about him.

RIP.

Still in shock this morning and welling up every time they play a clip on tv.

It's only at times like this when you realise just how much someone was a part of your life from childhood up to the present day.

Memories are often linked to songs and Prince was the soundtrack to my childhood and further. So many good songs-so many good memories.

Every new lp was a special event-every concert a must see

I can still remember clearly every time going to buy a new Prince lp and then playing it constantly.

Prince was and will be the only artist who's music I keep coming back to for inspiration

Without Prince I would never have had a career in music,it was him that inspired me to be a musician, learn different instruments-always try to be the best that I could be

Without trying to sound too melodramatic,it really feels like a piece of me is now missing-a piece of my childhood and my adult life,a place in music that will never be replaced or bettered

The Purple Rain lp literally changed my life and for that i'm eternally grateful

R.I.P Prince Rogers Nelson

I just can't believe it. I was out to dinner last night when I saw Prince's picture on the TV news and wondered what was happening. Was his piano tour going to get to the UK where it was due to start before the Paris atacks? Then I saw the headline and it didn't seem real.

Just ten minutes earlier my mother in law had asked me how Prince was as she'd heard about the emergency landing and hospitalisation the other day. And now the news was saying he was dead. I wanted to find confirmation if it was true, as it seemed unbelievable and so I came to the org. The org was not loading and that just made the feeling of dread rise further. More searching revealed more information and the unthinkable was starting to become a horrible truth. Twenty minutes later and eight different people had texted me with the news.

My wife had left the table for a moment and when she returned I said to her to not look at the TV screens. She could sense my tone and said, why, who's died? The word barely left my mouth as more than a whisper. Prince. sad

Prince really did have a massive impact on where my life is today. My wife, who I met through the org at a Prince concert in 2007 and my 4 year old son with her, would not be in my life if it wasn't for Prince's music. Even the job I do today would be different as it was my wife who found the job listing and said I should go for it. And of course the music, which I listen to daily

We carried on with our meal, talking about what had happened and how we couldn't believe it. Our son said, Daddy, don't be sad, don't keep thinking about Prince, pretend you're at home watching The Force Awakens and you'll be happy. biggrin

Sorry if I'm rambling, still in shock. I was concerned after the announcement that we was writing his memoirs as that seemd like an unlikely thing for him to be doing but even with that in mind, this has come so suddenly. It really hasn't sunk in properly yet sad.

RIP sad

My mind is blown, don't know what to say. I know I wanna play his music all day but don't have the heart to push the play button yet.

The book, the cancelled shows, the flu, the plane thing, his last tweets, the temporarily tear in his Twitter avatar.. maybe he knew indeed.

.

It's understandable that many media and people choose Sometimes it snows in April as the song to cover the news and show their respect. But most of them missed the fact that he recorded this song in 1985 at the 21st of April..

.

Thank you Prince for everything, and thank you people of the Org to get the site back up so we can all get things of our chest.

.

Whatever you heard about me is true

I change the rules and do what I wanna do

I'm in love with God, he's the only way

'Cuz you and I know we gotta die some day

If you think I'm crazy, you're probably right

But I'm gonna have fun every motherfuckin' night

If you like 2 fight, you're a double-drag fool

I'm goin' 2 another life, how 'bout you?

I am numb and have been ever since I got the news. I have not posted on the Org for years to be honest. But I am so thankful this org exists so that I can share and read everyone's posts. I am alone where I am and have no one to talk to. Feels good to be able to grieve together with you all.

May he RIP.
He died much too soon.

So incredibly numb.
