Sounds barely better than a bootleg.

Of course, most of the Piano gigs have been bootlegged and there's a box set coming of the Australian concerts, so "giving" us one single track is rather pathetic.

.

And sheesh, €1.30 for one live track? Pretentious much? How about giving us WHOLE CONCERTS for €10?

Exactly.
I don't argue with people about my opinions. Scram. I said what I said.

Where to begin. Please take a seat, this may change everything for you and relieve a great deal of the concern you appear to be having for Prince's financial situation. Prince is a Multi-Millionaire. A Multi-Millionaire.

The very fact that he could have made more money but is choosing to something else is actually a compliment. Prince has had very little true financial concerns since he was about 20. I genuinely don't know what you think is going to happen. Prince on welfare? Prince Homeless? I love how you take the Bowie estimated figure but ignore Prince's estimated figure which is $300Million http://www.therichest.com...net-worth/

This may come as a shock to you but Prince is in charge of his own business. He could have decided in 1993 not to release another song. Prince has high levels of control over his business, does what he loves is wealthy and celebrated. One Private party could pull in millions. It's all fine. Really.

Oh look, there's that bullshit website again.

.

Meanwhile the fact is that in the mid-1990s the Star Tribune had a multi-article special about Prince being in financial trouble. Which wasn't the first time, we know for instance that he was also in trouble in 1989. Oh, and since then we've had numerous articles about Prince not paying his bills or his taxes.

Only because prince doesn't have a manager or financial advisor to keep him intact with his financial obligations. I still feel he does pretty good with his 300 million dollar fortune.

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

I think the one point we can agree is that Prince is unlikely to be on food stamps/welfare anytime soon and is a deservedly wealthy artist doing what he loves.

Even if he was, he could still make some pretty decent omeletts on food stamps.

falloff

If only Prince had listened to Bart these last 20 years. He would have been successful, instead of a loser that played the Super Bowl; was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; owns his own recording studio; etc. etc. etc.

.

Neither of those events are recent and none of them are due to things he's done post-1980s.

.

Know what is recent? Him not finding a distributor for his latest masterpieces. Him selling a couple thousand copies of a shite album.

.

I guarantee you: Prince is making a fraction of what he would be making if he had followed the advice of plenty of his fans. Bowie's fortune is estimated at $100 million, I guarantee you Prince is nowhere near that and to a large degree that's due to his idiotic business decisions.

If you don't like the art, cool. Too bad for you, but that's the way art works.

Why is the business of his business any of your business?

You have no idea how much Prince is worth, nor should you. It's not your business.

falloff Who cares?

You're not seriously telling me that if YOU had $300 million in the bank, but had made most of that a long time ago, that you would feel bad because you hadn't made another $300 million lately? Surely you aren't trying to sell us on that!

Am I On the wrong discussion, I thought this was a discussion on joy in repetition? I like the version and want more. Anytime you want to drop another track from that show I'll buy it.

I think you make a good poit, we have become a little sidetracked! Anyway, what do you think of this version? I love the way Prince can reinterpret a track like he did with ICNTTPOYM or Something in the Water that just allows you to hear in in a whole new way.

prince is very gifted @ reinterpreting his "mAsTErPiEcEs" live into something otherworldly. It's one of the reasons he's the TOP live per4mer of his generation.

I like it and it is one of my favourite songs. I only heard it once live at an aftershow in Dublin after the one nite alone tour. I think it sounds really good on piano. I do like the reactions from the crowds on the recordings also. Just get this show to Europe now please.

I might be weird but I really loved the 3EG live versions of Let's Go Crazy reloaded and slowed down. The ICNTTPOYM was good live, but I admit he caught me out on the timing. I was singing ahead of him wink

I agree it is good to mix it up and it seems like this tour brings new life to old songs. I heard a snippet of RuffEnuff and I prefer it on the piano to the version on tidal. I remember in Montreux 2013 coming back loving Cause & effect (3EG) having never given it any time before. Live, the power of the song came out.

I dug that 'slow down' bit he added to LRC that many seem to hate on. I live when he reworks a song over for a live performance. Sometimes it feels like a whole new song. Makes the show interesting and surprising as ure not always certain as to what to expect. Like Alphabet St on It Ain't Over! Wow...that horn action FLOORS me!

I think that slowed down part on LRC worked very well too with the call and return from the crowd really pulling you into the song.

Totally agree. I love this 'mash up' of LRC / DM and the other examples you mention. He's great at reinventing some of his older songs.
.
Especially Something In The Water - I love the version with 3rdEyeGirl (even more so after seeing it at Manchester Academy) and also the piano version at Montreux 2013.
