It's a damn shame.

Does ANY other artist release as much muziq as prince does? Hell no! Which is why he has run out of options. What record label is going to keep releasing new muziq by the same artist every few weeks or months NONE! So deal with it or go follow another boring artist..

Cmon, those various unlicensed people putting out all those Prince bootleg CD's get it done and there's way more of those than official Prince CD's.

You tellin' us Prince can't outsmart and outdo those small-timers?

-

Your messages are always positive and congratulations on your distribution but don't be angry at us for voicing unhappiness with these reaccurring circumstances.

Prince has print-money options with his live shows and unreleased material and he's not changing with the times, he's trying to make the times change with him.

That's his choice, and right, but we gotz the right to call it as we see it as too.

Prince supplies the music, we're willing to hand over our cash so why this trouble that no one seems to have?

Prince, (whisper) call Amazon, please.

They'd be willing to give him front page advertisment. "Exclusively on Amazon: the new album by the 1 and only Prince".

peace

Are you living under a rock? Of course there are other artists who are releasing lots of music. Just open your eyes, look around and you will see. You don't have to like their music, but to dismiss other creative forces is ignorant. There are lots of very creative people outside prince-world.

Who has CONSTANTLY released new muziq yearly 4 almost 40 years? I'm waiting!

Btw I do admire other artist besides prince. But none of them has come even close 2 being as gifted to release as much muziq. I'm still waiting.

This is kinda what I love and "hate" by being a Prince fan. Nothing against Prince, but my ego clearly wants something he isn't giving me. I totally respect that! He must be allowed to do excatly what he wants with his own music. I'm sometimes wondering if he is doing all of this as a social experiment, that he in the long run will learn from. He does alot of unpopular choices. But he is also sometimes because of that, creating new business trends that people are copying years after. And some of these strategies has been very clever.

Have U been living under a rock? Why do U think he is doing this? No middle man period! Just from his hands to ours... Got it! Bootleggers have nothing to do with this. They'll always be around with their shady ways. But karma has a way of catching up with them.

Have U forgotton what prince has already done with distributing his muzq since he has been independent? Give him some credit..

but there is still a middle man! prince provided you (you're selling these too, right? i haven't read
the whole thread these past days anymore, i just couldn't bring myself to do so at this point) with
a bunch of copies.

you now sell those copies to prince's fans.

you are now the middle man.

you're a fan, a friend, a lover, a bunny boiler for prince whatever, but you are also, now the middle man.

so this set-up, to me at least, seems more convoluted than prince keeping all that stock at paisley
and taking orders, then shipping out direct. all it takes is a few employees. 1 or 2 should be enough.

aaaaaaanyway. it'll be interesting to see if prince moans and groans about the middle man again, if
this whole thing doesn't go as he wants it to. like, if the money doesn't flow back as soon, as much,
as honestly or as whatever.

you know he'll shove you under that bus, right? lol or maybe not. that's the interesting bit.

But... but what about the Wrecka Stow employees?

They gotta eat too!

And I give credit where credit is due.... if it wasn't for the fans that buy all his music Prince would be... a who? cool

(If a tree falls in a forest and no 1 hears it, does it make a sound?)

I don't believe this course of distribution you're gearing up for is viable for long-term success.

Prince realizes that Warner Bros was right all that time!

WB tried so hard... if they took losses with Paisly Park for years so why won't Prince give a few pennies to the middleman?

The fans are the ones now with 'SLAVE' written on their cheek's.

Good comparison

But forty-five albums under his own name, no big deal when compared to Sun Ra. But consider the amount of songs he's written for his various side projects. Then consider that he probably has another forty-five albums worth of material locked away in his vaults. Prince writes songs at the same rate most of us breathe.

Just to clear something up - someone at Paisley Park (I think probably Trevor and/or Meron) is handling this by offering wholesale prices to fans in different areas.

So you've got Sam from TheDigitalGardens handling Minnesota and pretty much anywhere through her site. You've got Dorothy who is based in Seattle who is handling a bunch of them via FB groups. I know of another fan in Holland who is handling Europe (so if you don't wanna pay a large shipping charge then it's probably best to go through her). And chances are there's gonna be more.

I think the point is that most active Prince fans will know at least one of these people, and be happy to order via their friends.

which fan in holland is selling them as would prefer to to buy inside europe

Me too. Europe please...

A week ago, I posted on this thread that seeing as Prince currently HAS an online business devoted 2 selling some of his merchandise and music, 3rd Eye Tunes, he should just send some boxes of the HnR2 album over 2 them 2 merchandise legitimately. Heck, he might even move some more BALTIMORE and FREE URSELF tees in the process. http://3rdeyetunes.com/

Why would Prince want me to seek out a random stranger on the internet, send them money in hopes of getting a CD rather than being able to buy one from a legit retailer online or in-store?

Oh, right. Prince already got his money for those CDs so he doesn't care.

Prince - The Work Pt. 1

The Work Pt. 1
Every time I watch the other people news
I c a false picture of myself, another one of u
They try 2 tell us what we want, what 2 believe
Didn't that happen in the Garden
When somebody spoke 2 Eve?
But I'm willing 2 do The Work
Willing 2 do what I gotta do
I'm willing 2 do The Work
Tell me now - what about u?

Look around and tell me ur Sun is Risen
When ur brothers and sisters r in the Fall
What is left 2 give when r work is done?
What do we own besides the right 2 crawl?

C we're living in a system that the devil designed
And suffering from this devil's most heinous crime
He's tried 2 keep us from the reason we were born
That is 2 b the living truth in human 4m

But I'm willing 2 do The Work
Willing 2 do what I gotta do
I'm willing 2 do The Work

Tell me now - what about u?

This work is not an easy task
But this is the work we must do 4 Revelation 2 come 2 pass
This work is the kind that turns ur back on the Ruling Class
By putting them in their place just like the past

Taste it, ain't it sweet sweet?
Gotta lotta work 2 do
Taste it, ain't it sweet sweet?
Gotta lotta work 2 do

Nothing can stop us
Whatever's in r way
We got 2 go thru it 2 get 2 it
I heard somebody say,

"I'm willing 2 do The Work
Willing 2 do what I gotta do
I'm willing 2 do The Work
Tell me now - what about u?"
Thank u
