That is kinda good news.

.

It's shocking how much EF are ripping people off for shipping.

.

Whenever I buy CDs from the USA it costs $6 dollars NEVER $13.

.

I think Prince and EF are taking the piss and ripping off fans.

.

In comparison, recently I bought 3 12inch singles and 2 CD singles from Amazon France and the total shipping cost was for those 5 items was just 3.40 euros !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that was international !!!!!!!!

From whom in the USA are you buying CDs? Because according to USPS, it costs $13 to mail a 6oz package overseas: https://ircalc.usps.com/?country=10150

I agree it is alot $13 for 1 item at electric fetus.. Also he could have given to shop more European friendly. As if you are in england & order 2 CDs you run the risk of a customs charge of £20 at electric fetus .

$13 is how much USPS charges. Why should the store lose money by not passing that expense onto the customer?

TDG were charging $20 for postage - they may have suckered a few with being ther first to be out there offering it but once Foetus has it I imagine everyone this side of the pond who was getting it took that route. Guessing no word yet on the Dutch fan who was getting it to sell?

I feel I need to bump this because so many people on here and on Twitter are accusing Electric Fetus of "ripping people off" for international shipping. Guess what? International shipping is expensive. Plus if you order from Amazon France don't they have local fullfillment? I know when I order from Amazon Canada it comes from Canada, not the U.S. If not for my own self-interest in getting my copies of Phase Two and Back In Time from them I would almost wish Electric Fetus stuck with their original policy and only sell the CDs locally in store. That way the people screaming "rip off" would have to take their chances buying the CD from random fans on Twitter and Facebook.

A more sensible approach instread of this peer-to-peer nonsense would be an international network of independent record stores with e-commerce capability like Electric Fetus so all fans could order from a store in their country and save money on shipping, but that makes too much sense.

To Australia, Bandcamp charge the same for 1 CD
Amoeba charge $8:50 for 1 CD
(And no, neither are selling HnR2)
USPS hiked their prices at the start of last year.

Buying just one CD is a pain as you get hit for maximum shipping costs. Amazon works as there's always a few more items to add and spread the shipping.

i am saying he as given item to entirely the wrong people in electric fetus. they are no good for people outside America. They play by the rules as far as customs are concerned also so your in danger of paying a hell of alot for 2 cds . where is most other shops you pay £10 for a cd.

£20 a cd is alot no arguing with that . if you try and save by ordering both cds together chance of customs charge especially in u.k.

Just ordered a copy from Electric Fetus for $17.99 ($13.99 + $4.00 S/H). Seems about the same amount of what I would have paid to Amazon. It should arrive in three to four days. Was happy to be able to use PayPal. Still not sure how I feel about the music, but I like it more than Phase 1 even with the old songs on it. Maybe a couple of listens will give me a better feel for it since I don't stream music.

Maybe Prince is wrong in telling international customers to buy from Electric Fetus, but he's not wrong in giving them the CD to sell. They service American buyers just fine.

.

The actual true issue here is that EF are not allowing buyers to select different shipping options. Most website these days allow buys to; collect from store, have extress shipping or standard etc.

.

EF are using a sledge hammer to break a nut... they do not need to use a really expensive service like UPS to send a cheap item like a CD. I regularly buy CDs from the USA and I never pay more than $5 or $6 dollars. The CD may take 2 weeks to arrive, but there is no rush. I have HNR2 digital so I don't mind waiting a few weeks before the CD arrives. After all, before we know it the HNR series will be 5 years old and a thing of the past, so waiting two weeks to get a CD delivered for $5 is perfectly fine and FIT-FOR-PURPOSE!!!

.

lol lol lol lol

From whom are you buying CDs in the U.S.? UPS charges even more for shipping than USPS. I don't know what cheaper shipping options you mean. DHL and FedEx also charge more. USPS has the cheapest shipping rates available.
